...host the championship celebration for the GaLAxy. According to Jim Hill of KCBS-TV Channel 2, it will be on Saturday.
According to Univision, 400 Galaxy fans were at Staples Center FSN Bar (I believe?) during MLS Cup 2003 yesterday afternoon.
Anybody know what time the FESTIVITES begin on Saturday?? I'm staying, temporarily, at a place just one block from Staples, so I'd definitely plan on going. However, I'll be in Santa Monica until 1pm, so I hope they don't start until about 2 or 3pm.
Don't mean to make you jealous, but I will be in A2 for the same reason you are in Santa Monica. Go Blue.
DAMMIT, why sooooo early??? If the Maize & Blue didn't have such an IMPORTANT game on Saturday, the decision would be EASY!! Like Cadaver said, I too have been a Michigan fan for A LOT longer than a Galaxy fan. However, how often do the Galaxy fans, especially the Riot Squad get to celebrate an MLS Cup title?? Our FIRST Cup after 3 frustrating defeats & a HUGE (hopefully?) turnout at Staples on Saturday make it a VERY enticing option. Why is this SOOOO gut-wrenching?? Because these are my TWO favorite sport teams (with the exception of the USMNT). Need time to think about this one, but don't be SHOCKED if I'm at Staples on Saturday morning!! Whatever I do, just don't question my allegiance to the Maize & Blue or the G-men!! I LOVE 'em both!!!
I have made MY decision................ I'll be at Staples at 11:00am for the Rally party!!!! I can always watch Michigan on ANY Saturday (if it was Ohio St., that would be different), but how often can I go to a Rally honoring the G-men?? Not to say that we'll never win another title. In fact, I hope this is the first of many, but you never know!! Anyway, I'll be ready for a MAJOR party come Saturday in honor of our beloved Galaxy & their "treble" accomplishment!!!! WEAR YOUR TEAL & GOLD!!!!!!!!!
Is that you Galaxy? How was your trip and how is LA? I'm happy for you and the Galaxy they and Cobi deserved one. Josh.
Good call GF03. Why don't you just set your VCR and watch the Mich game later in the day. I'll be watching the ND-FSU game that way.
It's me, JMH. My trip was fine & LA is GREAT. And thanks for the congrats. We definitely deserved it, based on our past frustrations and, more importantly, our play during the last two or three months. We WERE the BEST team in MLS. Don't think anybody could or would dispute that claim. Kudos to your team, JMH, on a GREAT choice as coach. Bob Bradley IS the real deal & he should bring out the best in the Metros. Who knows, maybe it'll be you & us at the NTC next October for the MLS Cup!!
Unfortunately, PZ, I'm still staying at a hotel establishment & don't have access to a VCR. However, it's all good because nothing beats a Rally Party for our boys. Did the G fans really think I'd miss our FIRST (of many, hopefully) victory celebration?? As far as Michigan goes, I'm sure they'll do fine without my presence on Saturday.
hey Is this an official LA Galaxy party on Saturday @ 11:00 am? Will any Players and or Coaches be there? Whats up
Just got home from Staples- what a great celebration! The Ruiz goal replay and Ezra's speech both got me a little misty-eyed. I got to touch the US Open Cup last year in Fullerton, and this year we all got our hands on the Shield and MLS Cup. Can't wait to see the banner hanging in the new digs next year!
Which paper? I didn't see anything in the Times, at least not online. I'd love to read an article, so a link would be appreciated.
Re: Who were those guys presenting the Supporter's shield? Ozzy from the Galaxians and Section 18 Hooligan from the Riot Squad.
