Let's start a thread consisting of nothing more than stadium renderings and photos from the development. I'll get us started. ** Please, enough threads about stadiums get polluted with someone posting photos of their favorite stadium with the caption, "Man, it would be awesome if we had a stadium like this one!" While that's all well and good, I'd like to limit this thread to depictions of MLS stadiums. Thanks.

Because they're building a permanent stage area at the north or south end, eg no stands/U shaped stadium.
i belive you only because i know how dumb this people are lost revenue from potential seating is > then cost of some mechanism to retract seatting or a pull out stage
They're doing the same thing in Frisco with FCD's new stadium. We'll have to see if it's worth it later on. I'm sure if it gets to the point where they need the seats it will be easy to build them.
I'm curious as to whether having a permanent stage area is worth it. The fans at a concert mostly just stand on the field any way, and with large productions there is a lot of custom staging to be built any way. Does anyone have some insight to this. I'm sure AEG did their research but I'd like to have it explained. Concerts aren't the only non-soccer event going on at these facilities.
I also have this problem with the whole 'we'll make tons of cash by having stadium events' theory that the MLS is pursuing with stadia. It seems like concert events have been plummeting in the last few years, except for the top acts that like larger arenas. I don't know, maybe KISS will have yet another tour. Maybe as the baby boomers die off, there won't be enough people to fill RFK stadium for the Rolling Stone's 23rd tour. I also don't like how they build the whole thing at once. Why not just build the two sides for abour 7500 per side, then build larger ends when the fans and finances allow? Makes more sense to me. But then, here in America, we like to borrow money and pray we can pay it off. Where are renditions of the DC United stadium? Pretty please?
You mean renderings, not renditions. And I would post a picture of a DC United rendering from 2002, but I haven't a clue how to post it.
And here is the full video from where the pic came from http://helix.ksl.com/video/ksl/2/240/24098.ram
Not sure if thats what it will really look like when its all said and done. But with the new governor, SLC mayor and even the ever present LDS church making such positive comments about a Soccer stadium, this will happen!
