That, too. They need academy players, young prospects from elsehwere, and established players.

Spurs ladies into the quarterfinals of the FA Cup after beating London City Lionesses 9-8 on penalties after the match ended 2-2 (Bethany England equalized in the 6th minute of stoppage time).

But we got a tough draw in the quarters, away to Chelsea.

How 'bout that? I saw that score at 90'+3 and just presumed we'd been put out. Nice one, ladies.

The draw for the round of 16 in the Champions League is tomorrow (Friday 27 Feb) at noon CET (6am eastern). We will face either Atletico Madrid or Galatasaray. We will play the second leg of the tie at home.

    It's Atletico Madrid.

The last time we played them was in the Cup Winners Cup final in 1963, which we won 5-1.

Clearly, they cannot compete with us. Over two legs, that translates to 10-2. That sounds about right.

After we see off Atleti, and then Barca in the quarters, we could have a reunion with Bodo or Woolwich in the semis.

Rumors are circulating that Amanda Staveley (who engineered the Saudi takeover at Newcastle) and her hubby Mehrdad Ghodoussi have a 3b-quid offer funded and in place to buy the club from ENIC. Staveley left her role in the board at Newcastle in '24, and are apparently itching to get back in the game. The Lewis's public response is that the club isnt for sale ... but that's a lot of scratch, and the presumption throughout their stewardship of the club has always been that it was fundamentally just a big investment awaiting a far bigger payday. So who knows?

Might be nothing, but it's out there.

We can only hope. The sooner we get this shit family and their greedy cronies out of the football club, the better.

The Newcastle takeover hasn’t exactly proved a model of success. Not sure how much credit/blame she deserves, but it seems like a lateral move.

Their ownership isn't anywhere near getting their club relegated.

Our supporters never cease to amaze me.

The sad thing is, Enic, the Lewis's, and the scum Levy will run off with billions of pounds for destroying our club.

Scott Munn (remember him?), our chief football officer for 2023-24 and 2024-25, is the latest ex-employee to give an interview to explain his multiple failures.

I can't remember the geezer giving an interview while he was here, but he was quick to talk about his role at the club (whatever that was) on Aussie TV.

According to Munn, he conducted a review of the medical situation and recommended changes, many of which were rejected by the hierarchy, which is all you need to know about Daniel Levy, the Lewis's and Enic.

But he failed to explain why the medical director of 20 years, Geoff Scott, left the club after a row with Ange over playing Vdv and Romero when they were not fit.

He was also the git who hired Lange.

And he called out the fans for wanting us to lose against Man City to stop Arsenal winning the title. Again, another wank Aussie who doesn't understand the rivalry between our clubs.

Ornstein is reporting that most of our players would receive a wage reduction if we go down. This applies to all deals negotiated under Levy:

I had been wondering if any such clauses were in place. Most clubs have them, but I'm not sure all the heavyweights do.

The utter lack of urgency in their play led me to suspect they might not.

If they go down they might go into Bankruptcy. A lot of debt

I think that is standard operating procedure for all clubs. Remember, even a heavyweight can get relegated for irregularities.

I was living in France when European Cup-winning Marseille got relegated to Ligue 2 in 1994 for match-fixing. And of course, there was Juve in Italy in the calciopoly scandal.

The debt is structured and being serviced. Think about how a mortgage works.

Yeah, I would presume so. But I'd heard somewhere - and I've no idea where or how credible it might be - that some behemoths (like City) did not, and that this guaranteeing of full wages was among their advantages in signing players. In other words, if the club hasn't the slightest worry of relegation, why should I (the player)? Or put conversely, if the club is concerned about it, why shouldn't I be?

But yes, I would have thought we'd have such contractual provisions in place, I just wasn't 100% certain.

Looks like one of the many architects of our demise is staying:

More evidence that the people running the club are just there to line their pockets - from Johathan Liew in The Guardian:

Ryan Norys’s talk at the South by Southwest festival on Friday will no longer take place. The club’s chief revenue officer, who has overseen a 40% rise in commercial revenue over the past three years, was due to speak on “how Tottenham is evolving beyond football to become a global cultural brand”. And given the rich seam of cultural content Spurs have been providing the world over recent weeks, you have to say it’s been a stunningly successful initiative.

Alas, when Norys posted an advertisement for the event on his LinkedIn page this week, Spurs fans exploded with anger, forcing the talk to be cancelled.

We are certainly not evolving within football...

From the mouth of Harry Redknapp:

“I got a phone call last week from Daniel, funny enough,” Redknapp said. “I think I spoke to him once since I left all that time ago. I thought: ‘Strange.’ And I’m on the phone for about half an hour chatting to him. And he was explaining what had happened to him and how he sort of got marched out of there.

“He did say to me: ‘Look, if I was there now, I would definitely … and I’m not just saying it, I would bring you back into it to the end of the season.’ So it would have been interesting.”

Yeah, the same geezer who sacked Harry after we finished 4th in 2011-12.

This was a hilarious story, utterly tone deaf from the club. Shocking that it took a social media backlash before anyone from the commercial side connected it to the current sporting situation. Does no one inside the club put 2 and 2 together?
