Djed Spence gets a new contract good through 2028. Didn't see that coming. There are other players who need to be locked down, for sure, like Son and Romero. But you can't deny we are thin at fullback.
That is quite an about-face, considering Ange had informed the Spence camp that he didn't figure in his plans. It looks like he's got his shit together and he has also benefitted from our dreadful summer window where we did not get cover for RB, LB or CB. And it makes the decision not to include him in the Europa League squad all the more idiotic.
Today is the 20th anniversary of the great Bill Nicholson's passing. As a player, the Yorkshireman was part of our teams that won the Second Division and First Division in back-to-back seasons in 1949-50 and 1950-51. As manager from 1958-1974, he won 8 major honours (basically half of our trophy case): one league title (1961), 3 FA Cups (1961, 1962, 1967), two League Cups (1971 and 1973), one Cup-Winners'-Cup (1963) and one Uefa Cup (1972). He was also part of the club's last golden era under Keith Burkinshaw (2 FA Cups and a Uefa Cup between 1981-84) when he worked as a consultant.

So the players hated Conte? No big surprise there. I never knew that the handball rule was going to change even before that play. Clearly Levy does not understand the athlete's mentality. Hopefully the new guy (Scott Munn) has more of a clue. I'd like to think Ange would have had something to say about those watches, too.
Hugo didn't say anything that we didn't already know. Scott Munn was brought in to develop the multi-club model, which is what he was doing at Man City. Remember, before Enic bought Spurs, they owned shares in Rangers, Slavia Prague, AEK Athens, Vicenza and Basel. Munn has nothing to do with recruitment.
I was about to post the MSN link for this. It is an astonishing revelation, IMO. It says so much about Levy.
Everything is in place for us to be a dominant club (stadium, training facilities, revenues). The only thing that is holding us back is the chairman.
Another who joins the Pantload Club - Rodrigo Bentancur suspended for 7 domestic matches by the FA for his brain-dead comments about Koreans. He is already serving an international ban for throwing bottles at spectators at Copa America. A decent footballer but not the brightest lad you'll meet. He can play in our Europa League fixtures but will not be eligible to return domestically until Boxing Day.
Is there something I missed? From the clip, it seems he is saying Son and his cousin look alike not all Koreans. Or did I misinterpret it wrong.
I tend to agree. I speak Spanish fluently and I didn't hear anything offensive, but in the woke Anglo-Saxon culture you can't say anything these days. I just found it funny when the FA let Arteta off for his famous 'disgrace' rant, claiming that he used the word in the Spanish context, even though Arteta has been living in England for over 20 years and knows exactly what he is saying in English.
