Varandas confirmed in an interview that we would see 14M of the 18M deal for Patricio. 4M would go to Gestifute (if you remember we owed Jorge Mendes' agency 7M for prior dealings when BdC first made this deal). He said Gestifute abdicated of the remaining 3M, and confirmed Patricio abdicated of a 5M euro signing bonus as well. Varandas also confirmed they have already started work on next season. Hopefully thats with a new coach.
I hope Patricio writes a book ome day. Would be interesting to get his take on what happened during his time qt Sporting.
Ronaldo's transfer to Juventus gave us 2.237M euros, due to him being our youth product, we have 2.25% of the 100M fee. We also got 1.149M euros for Santiago Arias' move from PSV to Atletico Madrid, we had 15% of the profit of a future sale. We also get 1.584M euros for the players that played in the World Cup in Russia. That gives us almost 5M euros just from other players we've had and the World Cup, hopefully we put that money to good use. Rodrigo Battaglia confirmed to have a knee ligament injury. No timetable was announced for his recovery, but it's estimated to be 5-6 months. It's unfortunate - just when the player was getting call-ups to the national team, this happens.
can anyone explain the whole bond loan topic and why players and ex players are posting stuff on their instagram? if this means sporting is in some financial whole then i doubt any spending will occur.
Gotta love the heart Patricio has. After everything this club has done, he still abdicates from millions that Sporting owes him, helps get money from Wolves, one of only two players not pursuing a lawsuit, and even helping with this bond bs.
Woah woah woah that goes against the narrative that he abandoned us and turned his back on the club and is a greedy ******** who should have his legs broken!!
A lot of people still feel this way. The hard-on for BdC is real. His power of persuasion of influence runs deep in the supporters still. But pro and anti-BdC supporters is not the only thing dividing the club. Varandas was pretty outspoken this week about certain "notable" sportinguistas who were in reality not looking for the best interests of the club, instead trying to sabotage this loan that's been so heavily talked about. Didn't mention names, but reading between the lines, sounds like he's pointing fingers at Ricciardi. It's been a topic ever since the elections and the chaos with BdC, this money will serve to repay a bond loan which matured in May but because of all the turmoil at the time, was postponed to Nov. 26th. It doesn't look like we'll get the 30M, but they currently have 11.5M and hence this campaign to raise another 3.5M to get the minimum 15M required.
Ricciardi isn't someone you can trust. He and Sobrinho all want money. BDC was right when he mentioned that Ricciardi's goal was to gain majority stake of SCP. Ricciardi's campaign was all about how SCP needs money now, etc.... and how he was the right guy for it. Do we honestly believe that Ricciardi would pony up whatever was needed out of the goodness of his own heart? hell no. THe further away he stays from SCP the better.
From what I understand, yes. But 15M was the minimum payment so we probably have time now without penalty to raise the remaining balance.
30M is the ideal, but 15M is the bare minimum for the repayment, we can probably make up the rest elsewhere; I read we have an 18M line of credit we could use. I'm not a financial expert so don't quote me on that though
SCP announced it got 26.1M euros from the bond loan (max. value of 30M), with the deadline passing today at 3 p.m local time. That means they managed to get over 7M on the last day. To reiterate the whole purpose of this, next Monday the club will have to repay the bondholders for a previous loan in the amount of 30M which had been postponed from May to November due to the chaos at the time. The SAD administrator said we didn't have to worry about the remaining difference of about 4M, which can be made up by the club and is part of the "financial plan" to make the club sustainable.
Final numbers for those who were interested: - 25,922,485 euros is the final number; there was a rumour that we would take the remaining money from the Patricio deal to complete the 30M which will be paid on Monday - nothing official though. - 4,087 investors total - 47 of those invested more than 50,000 euros - Almost 10% of the investments were between 10K and 50K. - 34% invested between 1001 and 5000 euros - 44.1% invested between 100 and 1000 euros - 'Record' says that Gelson invested 200K, with Patricio and William investing 100K each.
There's been another attack at Alcochete! Luckily the video was captured and posted online: Este Natal, fizemos a ligação entre o melhor que existe em nós, as nossas crianças, e algo que nos é muito próximo, a nossa Academia e o nosso futuro.É Natal quando a família está unida.Boas Festas.#ONatalÉVerde pic.twitter.com/t8PuTO7HpI— Sporting CP (@SportingCP) December 20, 2018
I think this was a brilliant idea to turn something negative into something positive. Of course, the media spins it as a problematic video.
Paulinho just turned 50 years old and we made a hilarious video of our resident "taxi" driver: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=2251768001732775
He hasn't played for so long now. Crazy how that move to England has panned out. Think he always wants to play in France anyway. Hope he comes back strong.
President Varandas had an interview with RTP where he covered everything from his first transfer window, Acuna, the league cup and related controversies, our rivals, the attack at the academy, etc...
