I have a profound idea: tell the players to make the simple pass. Watching the "new" DC United is like watching girls' high school soccer- there are no simple complete and consistent passes. The performance last night was pathetic. And El Diablo should have been cut in the offseason.
personally i think we had some good passes all the time. then again I wasnt watching on TV. From the stands all we saw were the give and go's that led to missed break aways. Really, those easy passes that I THINK your talking about were all around the Penalty Box, where we shouldnt have been passing. SHOOT THE BALL! dont pass the ball on the 18. if your withen 20 yards, shoot.
There were a lot of intercepted back passes last night, as there were last week. I watched it on tv, and as people pointed out last week, sometimes its hard to see who is who (though they seemed to have less a filter on last night's game), but you can't blame Chino this time. We obviously know Etcheverry and stewart, and olsen and convey, are capable of stringing three passes together. But so far those combos have been few and far between. I think they might need to tweak their training regimen a bit, to find some drills etc which will get these guys playing together on the same page.
