Gets out his Nanami jersey, and gets ready to run around the thread and make fun of Shizuoka.

Nah its all good, for now... until our Derby match, then the fire is gonna start! :D

After we did Urawa on Sunday (we don't often lose to them these days - our last 6 we're W4 D1 L1), the derby this weekend is pretty huge in terms of who progresses to the knock out stages. Jubilo are finding their form, so it should be a cracker.

While I'm here, something which has gone on sale around Shizuoka recently:

The flag was sold separately. ;)

Given the Sapporo logo near the bottom, I'm guessing it's something alcoholic.

From the location (above an England's flag) I'd assume it is watery beer :p

Aw, just kidding. I spent countless hour drinking in English pubs, back in the day. As far as there is some alcohol in, that's OK, even if the label says Urawa Reds, after a few sips I'd probably get over it and keep drinking.

Suzuyo is the main (shirt) sponsor, but Sapporo have been a secondary sponsor and club supplier for years. I'm sure with this little marketing ploy they'll see a sharp spike in Black Label sales over the World Cup period. :)

    Sapporo sponsored Albirex as well.
    Kirin does the NT.
    Is my beloved Asahi anywhere...?

Nothing in any official capacity as far as I'm aware, but he's still close to all things S-Pulse. He's been working on TV a fair bit these last couple of years commentating on S-Pulse matches among others.

While I'm here, here's a picture taken from over 100 metres away after the 2-0 defeat of Jubilo on Sunday:

Cheer up, mate! If you beat Yamagata on Wednesday, you're through!

Sapporo Beer are sponsor of Consadole and Albirex (atleast), and also Shimizu from what it looks like here. It's one of the best beers imho, and it would be cool if there were a Consadole-edition of it as well:cool:

    Edit:
(seems someone beat me to it though)

    NOOOOOO!!!

Sapporo should keep "Shiroi koibito" (="White boyfriend")

Have you ever considered we gaijin get free sponsorship???
The reason why all Japanese girls like us, Basse, is Consadole's sponsor!! :D

hehe I know;) I pointed it out to another friend a while ago!

Luckily "Shiroi Koibito" are their main sponsor this season, and Sapporo Beer are one of the "support sponsors", and have their logo at the back of the Consadole-shirt;)

Most of the Sapporo brews are pretty darn good. Yebisu Premium Malt takes the cake for me. I could live on the stuff.

EDIT: Should we change the thread title to, "The Shimizu S-Pulse and Beer Sponsorship and Discussion Thread"?
EDIT#2: Should we just make a beer thread on the parent forum?

Reading the footnote this was prepared (and still in progress) by JPFL. Great promotion I think.
