Surely this just proves it's the actual managers themselves rather than the nationality if there's only one name. Spurs have had more British managers than most top PL clubs in recent years
Decent chance Howe will be available this summer. Looks very much like he's taken Newcastle as far as he can. Lack of flexibility has made him hit a wall imo. Constantly recruiting the same style of player and always wanting to play like the underdog can only take you so far. I doubt they can hit the next level under him now, despite the fact he's ultimately done an excellent job. As @BarryfromEastenders always says though, these things make him a pretty unfit candidate for the England job.
His England chances will depend on the mood the FA feel fans and the media are in. If they think an English candidate is needed then Howe will be the frontrunner alongside Carsley but if they think another non English candidate will be accepted just as well plenty of other candidates might get looked at. As it stands I think the later mood is more likely unless things go 2010/2014/2016 level badly wrong at the World Cup.

Lampard's Coventry have dropped off massively. Five defeats in their last eight in all comps now. Still in a strong position but I reckon they'll miss out on automatic promotion from here.
He's had some good results but I've not been impressed with Chelsea's performances under Rosenior so far. Don't wanna judge him too early but what he did tonight in pinning Delap to the touchline while having the full-backs in the half spaces was a major red flag.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe has moved to quell speculation he could walk away at the end of the season following a dispiriting run of results - The Independent
Another loss for Newcastle, it does seem increasingly difficult to imagine Howe being there next season, or even making it till the end of the season without rapid improvement, though its difficult to gauge what exactly the owners ambitions actually are. Still not really sold on Howe as a potential England manager, though the stars would be potentially lining up for it if Tuchel doesn't stay beyond this summer.
The worse possible option is Howe going from Newcastle and then Tuchel extending his contract pre World Cup. Certain media would go crazy at a high profile England manager being snubbed.
In what way is Tuchel, a significantly better manager than Howe, committing for another two years worse than Howe getting the job?
It’s not but some of the media will say that as they don’t think Tuchel should habe the job due to his nationality.
I swear half the posts you making on this site are theorising/guessing the reaction of media outlets to an events that haven’t or likely will never happen. Or suggesting someone won’t make a future squad because of a ‘feeling’ you have.
Yeah. Pretty certain it's articles like this that prompt it. The approach to football journalism in the UK, at time, is getting worse https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/cjrzrxxpzpqo
The BBC never used to post like that but in their attempt to get clicks and appeal to younger people they constantly filling the sport pages with articles like that.
