Gillingham sacked manager Mark Bonner after a dismal run of form - and announced his appointment less than an hour later. (The Sun)
Looks like Everton are getting ready to sack Sean Dyche. I suspect within a couple of years Everton if they survive in the PL will turn into a club with only a couple of English players regularly starting. With Steve Cooper also being considered at West Ham we could have a period of just Howe as the only English manager in the league

Potter seems to be willing to accept two and half years now which also means he is out of running to replace Tuchel post World Cup.
🚨 West Ham strike agreement with Graham Potter to replace Julen Lopetegui as head coach following Spaniard’s departure today. Englishman to sign 2.5yr contract + take charge of #WHUFC for FA Cup trip to Aston Villa on Friday. W/ @stujames75 @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/T0DP74jtIg— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) January 8, 2025 Surprised he wants to be in charge for Friday. It’s not the easiest of first matches.
'Can I start next week because I'm afraid of the game on Friday' would be a strange gambit in an interview for a managers job.
Wait all this time just to go to a basket case of a club in the middle of the season. Strange move from Potter.
West Ham United is delighted to welcome Graham Potter as the Club’s new Head Coach ⚒️— West Ham United (@WestHam) January 9, 2025
Everton in three years time will be a new Brighton/Bournemouth/Brentford with about 3 English players only Jose Mourhino is linked with the job.
Sacking Dyche is a bit of a risk because I think he probably would have turned it around but his style of play was like watching paint dry.
Apparently Everton are not going to proceed with trying to appoint Mourinho which is a lucky escape for them. Mourinho is such a yesterday manager and done little of note for years except cause division wherever he goes. Really not what Everton needs imo.
I think it’s was just some crap story someone made up for clicks. There are other reports linking your Club with Moyes to return to the Club though. I find that quite surprising though if true, I mean why go back to the same old stuff all over again. It’s like Everton just go round in circles with little thought of actually progression. That’s if it’s true about the Moyes rumour but I hope they go in a different direction personally.
To be fair to him, Moyes did a really good job with West Ham (who I'm sure are regretting the attempts to go to the "next level" right now), and only left Everton the first time because he went to Man United. Seems like he'd be a pretty good fit back there. He always did well with them without spending too much and would be able to work with that squad without being a massive departure from what they're used to.
🚨 David Moyes set to be appointed Everton manager - talks heading towards deal being finalised imminently. Expected to be announced in next 24hrs. Viewed by TFG as ideal for PL survival + longer-term plans, which #EFC contract will reflect @TheAthleticFC https://t.co/16e7Jqu2Xn— David Ornstein (@David_Ornstein) January 10, 2025
