Opeth was the first video I posted. I think they're arguably the best metal band in the world at the moment. Bodom I thought was too obvious and Mayhem and Emperor give the genre a bad name so I didn't include them.

Scandinavias best (hard) rock band ...period ! : D-A-D (formerly known as Disneyland After Dark, until a threatening lawsuit from The Walt Disney Company) D-A-D - Bad Craziness (Live at the Roskilde Festival) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyaVOXRgdIg"]YouTube - D-A-D Roskilde 05: Bad Craziness[/ame] D-A-D Roskilde 05: Grow or Pay [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv_tbyqqy3E"]YouTube - D-A-D Roskilde 05: Grow or Pay[/ame] D-A-D Roskilde 05: Sleeping my Day Away [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=buSOg9Lm_0g"]YouTube - D-A-D Roskilde 05: Sleeping my Day Away[/ame] and much much more... : http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=D-A-D+Roskilde+05&aq=f .
...and now to something totally different... a woman and her guitar... The Aarhus Singer-songwriter Tina Dico (or in Danish Tina Dickow), also at the Roskilde Festival 2008 : [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j77NqapmA94"]YouTube - Tina Dico at Roskilde Festival (2 of 4)[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDWrERW2PS0"]YouTube - Tina Dico at Roskilde Festival (1 of 4)[/ame] You can also find a part 3 and 4 at youtube... .
KD and Mercyful Fate are metal legends of course, I wanted to go for bands that are still relevant though. Good stuff nevertheless, thanks!
lol, if there is ever a thread for self important drummers from Scandinavia perhaps we'll squeeze him in.
Well, to be fair, it was Lars Ulrich who formed and recruited the band and came up with the name Metallica... .
I'm not taking that away from him. Still doesn't mean he isn't an arrogant dick or doesn't own up to the fact that they ripped off a big part of their act from Diamondhead.
I liked Conspiracy better allthough that was by himself speaking of danish metal here is my favorite danish death metal band [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPbJAEjV0BM&feature=PlayList&p=AEE0C899EBAA8EDA&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=44"]YouTube - Illdisposed - weak is your god[/ame] Illdisposed rocks
more danish metal allthough i spend most of my teenage years in high school listening to norwegian black metal. Hatesphere [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1UwFaEOwio"]YouTube - Hatesphere | The Sickness Within[/ame]
and finally my local homeboys from esbjerg (metal capital of denmark. more metal cd´s are sold there per capita than anywhere else in denmark). "Experts" catagories it as trash/speed metal. They have not played together for some years but there has been talk about a reunion. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTGghVxyk54&feature=PlayList&p=16B60CC48A6BA1B3&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=62"]YouTube - Invocator - Writhe In Spit[/ame] Lead singer jakob Hansen is now a well established producer and has been used by alot of different bands incl the above mentioned bands illdisposed and hatesphere
as for club music i would mention Trentemoller- here with a remix of another scandi band, royksop [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3njX4nSO5U"]YouTube - Royksopp - What Else Is There (Trentemoller Remix)[/ame] and Yashimoto - Do What You Do (Trentemoller rmx) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jllBXe0TnY&feature=related"]YouTube - Trentemoller - Do what you do[/ame] please forget all about Aqua, that was a mistake an we apologies for it... but the lead singer was/is norwegian so they should atleast get some of the blame
sorry for being danish focused but that is just the theme for tonight- i will make up for it by posting some other scandi music another day I listen alot to Veto these days since i went to a concert here in Aarhus to hear them- a very good experience [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7jM_XR35U0"]YouTube - VETO - You Are A Knife[/ame] another one with Veto- i think they have alot of potential [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CKWUgTdwsI"]YouTube - You Say Yes, I Say Yes[/ame] that guitar riff is just so addicting I am not a music expert so i dont know whether it is the correct label or not but I would describe it as electro rock
last danish focus this time around- Blue foundation who did the music for the american serie Twilight with the song Eyes On Fire. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4HEHyD0biQs&feature=related"]YouTube - Eyes on Fire - Blue Foundation (with lyrics)[/ame] Allthough they are not completely danish, I think they have 3 other nationalities in the band. I also dont know how to catagories their music but electro combined with something else is the closest i can get [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONfd7ATTFlo"]YouTube - Blue foundation: Enemy[/ame]
Kick a$$. Jacob Hansen is a great singer. He is in Beyond Twilight and Anubis Gate, 2 other really good bands.
I hate this kind of music so much, I want to claw your eyes out for damaging me. Well, really, I just want to hurt you for the "Aligned Planets" song. The rest might have some redeeming quality... maybe. I just don't get it.
So much missing! Can't believe I'm not seeing José González. He's Swedish. Great voice, nice guitar. Here are a couple of cover songs that I like, but he has original stuff too. The Knife's "Heartbeats" [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4_4abCWw-w"]YouTube - José González - Heartbeats[/ame] Here he is doing Massive Attack's "Teardrop" [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B-h1EEsKDA"]YouTube - Jose Gonzalez - Teardrop[/ame] "How Low" [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMuOYJ1vu3g"]YouTube - Jose Gonzalez - How Low[/ame]
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTx6enCvQ-M"]YouTube - Annie - Chewing Gum[/ame] Here's Annie. She's Norwegian..... "Chewing Gum"
Apoptygma Berzerk! Norwegian! [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3Uu11SOrOY"]YouTube - Apoptygma Berzerk - Suffer in Silence[/ame] Covenant - Dead Stars (Swedish) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPnWOem7jok"]YouTube - Covenant - Dead Stars[/ame] Echo Image - Skulk (Norwegian) [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UohBaeYVyeo"]YouTube - Echo Image - Skulk[/ame]
[ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ur5p7n9l5RM"]YouTube - Apoptygma Berzerk - Fade to Black[/ame] And here's Apop again... covering Metallica! Ok.... I'll say it. I think it's better than the original by far.
