Put an [R] in there in case we start discussing results when he is not with the team.

Treatment: Ice, electrotherapy, gentle massage to reduce inflammation, treatment to maintain general fitness.

    2nd week

Treatment: Electrotherapy, heat treatment, hydrotherapy, clinical control and scans, isometric exercises.

    3rd week
    Objective: Making muscle work
Treatment: Isotonic exercises, gentle exercise on bicycle, gentle progressive stretching, work on reestablishing muscle reactions, clinical control and scans.

    4th week

    Ronnie could make Real date
Ronaldinho is continuing to make good progress in his recovery from a thigh injury.
The Brazilian star tore a muscle in his right leg against Betis on November 9 and was originally expected to be ruled out for at five weeks.

Although the Catalan outfit are remaining coy over a possible comeback date, the former PSG schemer has still not been ruled out of returning for the league clash with arch rivals Real Madrid at Camp Nou on December 6.

Ronaldinho is still being confined to gym work in a bid to reduce the risk of aggravating the tear, and the club are keen to ensure he continues his recuperation away from the glare of the media.

Ronaldinho definitely out for Madrid clash

Club doctors revealed on Monday that Ronaldinho would not be fit in time for the game against Real Madrid.

Following a scan at the FIATC Clinic in Barcelona, first team doctor Lluis Til and head of Club medical services Jordi Ardévol, announced that the injury was progressing well but that it would not be wise to rush the recovery period. The player will be out for a fourth week and so will miss this Wednesdays game against Malaga and next Saturday's duel with Real Madrid.

    Training steps up

The medical bulletin also explained that the Brazilian would start a week of training on the pitch with the ball, with the rhythm of work increasing progressively. Ronaldinho will have further tests to measure the strength of the affected muscle at the end of the week in the FC Barcelona Sanitas Centre for Sports Medicine. "Depending on the progress and the rest of the tests, hell rejoin training with the rest of the group as appropriate".

Speaking at a press conference, Dr Luis Til explained that the 5-centimetre scar on the leg muscle "is complete but still soft" and consequently the risk of opening the wound was high. He went on to say that the player was disappointed to learn that he would not be ready for Saturday. "But he accepted the decision and is in agreement with the established programme of training".

Laporta: "The fundamental thing is that the player makes a full recovery"

Club president Joan Laporta has said that the main thing is for the player to make a full recovery. "It's no good taking risks". The president believes that the squad is strong enough to face the big game against Real Madrid, but warned that the game against Malaga this Wednesday is also very important.

"Ronaldinho is a magical player. We would all have liked him to be there against Real Madrid, but you have to take things as they come. The fact that he'll be absent mustn't be an excuse. We can beat them".

Ronaldinho had some further tests on his injured leg this Thursday that showed that he is progressing according to schedule.

The Brazilian international underwent the tests on the affected muscle at the FCBarcelona Sanitas Centre for Sports Medicine. The subsequent medical bulletin issued by Club doctors stated, "The recovery process is satisfactory and the recovery times are in line with those given in previous medical bulletins". Ronaldinho had an isometric test as well as a test to measure the explosive force. Then, out on the pitch he had a further test to measure resistant known as 'Course Navette'

    Carles Puyol given all clear

Carles Puyol received the thumbs up from Club doctors on Thursday morning and can now return to training with the rest of the squad. The Catalan defender received a heavy knock on his ankle in the game against Valladolid, which caused him to miss the match against Malaga in the Rosaleda stadium (5-1).

Ronaldinho to get medical ok for derby

Following final tests today, which revealed he's progressing as planned, Ronaldinho will be given his medical OK to play later this week.

Inline with the recovery plan laid out by club doctors, Ronaldinho was put through a series of exercise today to work on his sprinting and change of pace on the pitch. According to an official note from the club's medical services, Ronaldinho passed the tests: "without any problem at all".

A medical test on Monday evening revealed: "the player's muscle is recovering correctly". Later, Jordi Ardévol, the head of the club's medical services explained: "the tear is virtually completely healed". It thus seems likely that Ronaldinho will be back in full training on either Wednesday or Thursday this week ahead of Saturday's derby game.

Ronaldinho picked up the injury, a tear of 5 centimeters in his right thigh, against Betis on 9th November and if he does come back this week, he will have been out for between 31 and 32 days.
