Yeah even today, Croatia did create enough to score at least 2 goals. They just don’t have enough quality too, everything too slow.

Croatia created many chances today, if it was France/Germany/England Spain would not win this game.

Fran came on in the 87 minute and showed what a big loss it is for Spain that Diaz doesn't play for them.

The miss was crazy and the throw in was worse. How can you be a professional player and mess up a throw in when the Albanian player is standing right there?

    That reeks.

Bastoni smashing it into the net. Italy have responded well aside from the goal.

Agreed; like even a blind man can see that he kicked the turf with the intent to dive. Why did they ignore that? To save their own blushes?

Overall I like what I saw from Italy barring the opening meltdown. I'm curious to see how they stack up to Germany and Spain.

I didn’t know him, but I really liked Calafiori. Strong defender and confident on the ball, not really your typical Italian defender.

Plays for Bologna apparently, 22 years old, I never heard of him tho. Maybe it’s just me :D

Pep turned our best centre back into an attacking LB because it fits the city system and our dumbass manager thinks it can work in the NT too. Put him back at centre half you don't have Rodri and 5 other cb to cover for him.

Totally agreed - it's a shame that they are trying to turn Gvardiol into a LB. The guy could be a top tier center back. Reminds me of Ramos playing RB.

Gvardiol played left back with the national team before he even joined City.

Has Spain ever had an above average player captaining them in a big tournament like Morata? Odd choice given they have Carva and Rodri.

Charisteas shot Greece to winning the euro.

People keep putting the focus on individual names and not on the team.

Morata has 1 goal in 1 game. Let's wait to the end of the first round until we start making clever points about players.

Morata has always been above average at best. Making such a player captain is odd when he isn't even the most senior either. There were talks whether Oyarzabal should start given Morata's terrible form in last 6 months.

Good for Spain that Villa/Torres weren't just stat padding in group stages. :D I mean Haaland is twice the player Morata is and still gets criticized for not delivering in big games.

The police had to shoot a man who was threatening Netherlands fans gathered in the Reeperbahn fan zone in Hamburg with an ax , hours before the Oranje's opening match against Poland in the European Championship.

According to information from Bild , four shots were heard with which the police subdued the attacker, who was spreading panic with an ax in his hand.

It is not yet known if the attacker has died. He carried a Molotov cocktail in his backpack as well.
