I can't believe that Morata of all players lifted the cup for Spain... every game he played could have been with 2-3 more spain goals if it wasn't for him
Top scorer of the tournament had just 3 goals. It's funny but nobody stood out as a goal scoring threat. Spain spread their goals across the entire team.
Yeah, i was thinking this was not a summer of stars. It's the guys we knew less about that wrote their name in the headlines. Guys like Olmo, Williams, i would even say Mainoo and Guehi were the arguably most solid england players. Germany were unlucky to meet Spain this early i feel, but overall i can't complain, the tournaments were a good time overall.
🇪🇸 Marc Cucurella replies to Gary Neville: “We went all the way, Gary. Thanks for your support”. pic.twitter.com/RXYw9sMkaf— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) July 14, 2024 Neville and Lineker need to hold hands and walk to the land of shut the hell up. Incredible that people consider Lineker a voice in the sport after saying Kane is better than Benzema. Since he said it, Benzema has cleaned up every trophy there is and became the best player on the planet while Kane did the football equivalent of missing a breakaway layup in Bayern and then blowing the game winning freethrow at overtime with the national team. I've said it many times, the reason you don't see many clear 9s in the top of the sport anymore is because the game favors creators. Spain won the Euro with two Ferraris on the flanks and a Fiat Uno in the middle. The creators matter more than anything.
Should have been Yamal, Nico or Olmo. Yamal and Nico got snubbed due to age probably and Olmo because he's not a big name at club level.
I think Germany wins the tournament if they win that game, and my pre-tournament pick of Musiala would've been spot on. Oh well.
🗣️ - Van der Vaart: "€100M for Declan Rice. What does he do? He comes to collect a ball only to pass it back to John Stones. He is useless. If you are truly worth €100M, then you should be able to play a ball forward." I'm relieved I'm not the only one that thinks this way. Big fan of Rodri but don't think he had a tournament that stood out.
He's on tv rinsing players the whole time. But honestly he's not quite wrong. Rice and Stones are considered "ballers" to use a more loose term but they both looked very basic out there.
He's not criticising their performances at the Euro but them as players. Said something negative about Jude too. I dont know if it's just his negative quotes that are spreading but he's being very unfair towards many players
What a season Joselu! On loan scored 17 goals, trashed Bayern, won La liga CL, now Euro and off to earn millions in Saudo Arabia. Legendn!
VDV is dross because he couldn’t hack it at RM. couldn’t hold a candle next to Jude and this Dutch wank wants to criticize? F off.
i can guarantee you those same pundits and all of England probably think every English striker is way better than Oyarzabal, and that he is a nobody, this is why i needed England to lose Lol what?, it would be interesting to know who you consider "that great of a player" ..... This is what i feel about the BDO too, goals are the most exciting part of the game so i get why they mostly gravitate towards that but they are surely not the only part of the game if it was only about scoring then we wouldn't need 11 players on the pitch Even if they are " better players" that doesn't mean Benz wasn't a great player, Kane can't even begin to think on the level of Benzs' football intelligence and is nowhere near Benz re technique, even without thinking of the respective trophy cabinets A complete dud outside City and Pep I would have given it to Fabian, thought he had a stellar tournament Brutal and spot on IMO, i have no clue why Declan Rice is so highly valued, everytime i watch him i find it perplexing and somewhat hilarious Meh, IMO he's 100% correct, watching Declan Rice get bypassed, turn the ball over or pass it back game after game was embarrassing but also funny, a myth of a player from what i've observed so far for both club and country
Benzema hasn't won any major trophies with France (and no the Nations League doesn't count) and to me in order to be a great player you also ideally have to win something with your national team.
He wasn't barred for most of his career and he played for France at 4 major tournaments. In fact, France were shockingly poor when he played for them at major tournaments.
You're kidding right? Benzema after coming back from suspension was their best player by far. In his last tournament he did everything he could pulling rabbits out hats only to be let down on penalties by his teammates. He has played in one WC when he was only 25 years old and the last Euro before his suspension being when he was only 24. He only played in 3 Euros one of which when he was only 19 and the last being when he was absolutely beasting, scoring 4 goals by the L16.
