Other than the fireworks quotes, what kind of sticks out for me is that he seems to always try to explain the present using the past as a translator. Whenever he speaks about a current situation, he always seems to try to put it in context by connecting it to his past.

Ok, I got you. I guess he's trying to make his comments more relatable and at the same time ground them in some historic truth, based on past experiences / situations.

Yeah, i think whatever a player struggles with, Mourinho seems like the person that will reach a story out of his bag to sort of communicate to a player that what he's going through isn't an isolated case, he also seems to seek connection with the players which is the exact opposite of the CEO coach Xabi attempted to be.

José Mourinho's first words as the new Real Madrid coach:

“It's like a mission. I'm not worried about whether I'm going to win a lot or a little, I'm here to help us become better. It's not about working at Real Madrid, it's about working for Real Madrid.”

    (Real Madrid TV)

JOSÉ MOURINHO: "Words aren't enough because it's like a mission. It's not about being worried about myself or whether I'm going to win a lot or a little. I'm here to help everyone be better: players, staff... To create a culture of work, responsibility, ambition, and something I know well, which is the responsibility and honor of working for Real Madrid. I really like this concept. It's not about working at Real Madrid, it's about working for Real Madrid. And it's with this mission-like spirit that I'm here."

“We are working very hard. It's not like I arrived here today and everything started. We have been working hard for a long time with the club's structure at different levels. Today, we can work remotely because technology helps us a lot, and today it was practically a matter of arriving and 'taking control' of everything that has been done and what we still have to do.”

I get his point, but doesn't Netflix have a show called losers or something?

I would rather pick the brain of someone like Wenger if I wanted to become a better player or learn how to identify, nurture and train players.

But Wenger won’t give you those sexy one liners to put in the trailer as a teaser so that even non fans aren’t able to resist watching. Mou is literally a made for telenovelas.

He’s practically a snake oil salesman by now but I really can’t criticize him because even people who’ve been bitten by the snakes keep coming back to give him their $$$ and honestly that’s quiet the skill even it’s not at all productive.

Whenever I see that chat he had with Deli Alli at Tottenham I get a little emotional. I have to have those same kind of talks with my students and players.

Jose was 100% right about Alli. You can tell he cared about him, and given what we know know, it’s harder to judge Alli.

Maybe my optimism is delusional, but I’m excited for the return of the Special One.

He might just be what the doctor ordered, we will see…

It’s a great opportunity for Madrid to get back on track and it’s a great opportunity for Mourinho to get back to greatness, could be exactly what both parties need.

    Extremely excited for the season!!

But something positive always happened on every episode from the "Losers".

He told a guy that was struggling with mental health because of serious trauma that he'd regret not working harder at his day job.

I think that's a clip that aged absolutely awful for Mou but I assume that he had no idea what the guy was dealing with.

That’s the point. Mou had no idea why Alli was behaving that way, but you could genuinely see he cared for him and his career by giving him an honest talk about his ability. I’m sure he’s had the same conversation with other players before. Not all players under him liked him but the vast majority did.
