http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=4599 That's the good news. The bad news? Ouch, for 13 episodes? Snazzy packaging though.
"Doctor Who checks into SCI FI" Series One (with Christopher Eccleston as the Doctor) begins airing Fridays on the Sci Fi Channel beginning in March 2006. It's likely that the Sci Fi Channel also has the option to air Series Two (with David Tennant as the Doctor) later on. However, the Series One DVD set release date has been delayed from February to July. -G
Here's a site that has various amatuer remixes of different/multiple versions of the Doctor Who theme. Some of them are really good.... http://whomix.trilete.net/?wmid=music

Fond memories of watching the Tom Baker episodes (he's the one in the upper right corner) on PBS when I was a kid. Looking forward to checking out the new series on the sci-fi channel.
The second season of Doctor Who (with David Tennant), the full season of which has already aired in the UK, begins airing on the Sci Fi Channel on Friday, 9/29/06. -G
Watching the second season, too many episodes in London! Pre-finale, The Girl in the Fireplace and the two-parter The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit are the best IMO. David Tennant's great.
I'm watching Season One on DVD right now. I watched a couple episodes before and didn't think much. Now that I'm watching it on DVD w/o commercials - I'm liking it a lot more. Pretty good. I look forward to seeing the second one as well.
Tennant was incredible during Season 2. Not to take anything away from Eccleston who was excellent the previous season, but Tennant definitely had a bit of an extra dimension to his acting... a bit more eccentric at times. That he was a good-looking, younger guy was a mixed bag--on the one hand, it was interesting to see him take on a romantic angle in The Girl In The Fireplace, but at the same time it was a little weird to see Rose giving him longing glances so often. Oh and the season finale was some of the best television you'll ever see.
Here is the seven-minute Doctor Who Children In Need Special that aired in the U.K. (but not in the U.S.) that preceded The Christmas Invasion episode. -G
I quite enjoyed the first two and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. I held off on buying the Region 2 DVDs and am glad I did if only so that I get to have the show to look forward to the next dozen Fridays or so.
And starting this coming Friday (10/6/06), there'll be both Doctor Who and Battlestar Galactica episodes to look forward to. Don't forget to watch the Doctor Who Children In Need Special linked two posts above this one. -G
Regarding yesterday's episode The Girl in the Fireplace: Wow! Just... wow! And I mean that in a good way. -G
That was the episode that fully convinced me of Tennant's ability to play the Doctor. Fantastic stuff.
I agree completely. I think Tennant is fantastic. Seeing Sarah Jane Smith last week was awesome as well. She looks damn good for her age, she must be in her 50's by now.
Torchwood, the spin-off with Captain Jack, started this past weekend on BBC Three. Looking forward to see where they go with it, especially after how they ended the second season of Doctor Who.
He's baaaack... The Runaway Bride aired Christmas Day. Just finished watching it myself... man it was good to have the Doctor back. Seemed short, although I'm not sure if that's just because it flew by. I think everyone's hoping for a few more episodes away from Earth this season. And personally I enjoy the two-parters a little bit more in general.
