That Project 2025 searches spiked after the election tells me much of what I need to know regarding how well the various forms of media, including social media, did their job.
The country needs comprehensive immigration reform, to address a whole host of issues. I don't see that happening any time soon.
Fair point--but I worry that faulty or misleading narratives take shape early. IMHO, part of what got us here is that the BS "economic anxiety" argument that Bernie Sanders and others made in the wake of 2016 helped shaped not only public perception but also media narratives--even though subsequent analysis of voting data largely refuted that vibes-based "analysis."
If it happened soon, Republicans would no longer have anything to run on. They need it to be chaotic.
Unfortunately the factor going unmentioned in the last couple pages, Kamala’s femaleness, is going to be hard to measure. Because my guess is a lot of people didn’t vote for her primarily for that reason, but they’re not going to admit that to others or even themselves.
While you people are telling us how we lost Bullshit. I’ve just taken a screenshot off the TV. This is what your still evolving situation has brought. By letting “them” still push their lies and disinformation. So if I respond I’m being grossly unfair. Come on!!! Tom Homan, Trumps border Czar give his hate to the church of the AR-15. And you want to normalize that.
I'll maintain that any other election Harris wins this. People just like Donald Trump. Especially those who might not be engaged or know what serious wealth actually looks like. Plenty of downballot races give me a silver lining that without Trump the GOP doesn't have much going for them. I mean, Elissa Slotkin, a Jewish CIA agent just won the Michigan Senate race.
My analysis of the Trump tariffs suggests that fear mongering on this is overblown. Why? Because most tariffs that Trump implemented in his previous term are still in place and have even been increased under Biden. I suspect that not all proposed tariffs will be implemented and that we will see a general continuation of the same policies of the last eight years with a few more targeted tariffs. https://taxfoundation.org/research/all/federal/trump-tariffs-biden-tariffs/
It will be never be fully accounted for, not only because many people won't admit to it but also because it's so hard to measure.
This is a fantastic chart. I’m interested in better understanding if, and if so, how the inflation reduction act specifically addressed any of the items at the top of the chart. I’m a pretty well educated voter…who has faith in Democratic policy makers and politicians, that when they propose legislation to fix something and overcome republican and Manchin level Dem intransigence to keep it broke…that in general the policy proposals are good and will work. And I know this “did” work..,as inflation in aggregate is under control.
My two minute google search leads me to suspect this is total bullshit. And oh…I deliberately lied when I said in my op that I had no reason to suspect. I had every reason to suspect. I was highly highly confident that there is no ********ing way this happened. But I just don’t give a shit enough to actually look it up. And nobody will be talking about it by the time her final campaign expenditure statements are released and everyone knows it was bullshit. But the chaos agents that created this will have accomplished their mission…they got it out there..:and they got it to spread…and they enabled it to be ammo used in the Dem circular firing squad. And while it will likely die…I guarantee you it will return like a zombie in 3 years when we try to collectively pick up the pieces of wreckage that will be coming…and it’ll be used by the same ********wits that just couldn’t bring themselves to vote for Hillary…or vote for Joe…or vote for Kamala…to not only not vote for the next Dem presidential candidate…but to actively undermine them.
And don't misunderstand I'm not trying to allege that all white blue collar workers were for Trump (I know this from personal experience) or that white Trump support was concentrated among blue collar workers. My main point is that black and brown blue collar workers (yes they exist) weren't particularly attracted to Trump.
Washoe narrowly flipped to blue: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2024/11/05/us/elections/results-nevada.html But the unusually narrow margin in Clark killed Harris in Nevada.
To quote John Madden "you pull the male Latino vote here, slide in lower support by White women, factor in the border and inflation...then BOOM! another Trump presidency!"
Yes, I don't recall a coup taking place at the Govermentin' Shack sponsored by Cluck U Chicken in the movie.
