    It reads to me like he's pausing to reflect in light of new info, but I'm not current in the Racism thread.

    I guess it's not clear to me how what he's said ITT suffers for not having considered the degree to which the US working class has been kept from having common cause due to segregation from above.

    I also confess I don't (yet) get your reference to American Exceptionalism as it relates to differential shitting on elements of the working class. I mean i can get White exceptionalism there ("we're less bad-off than those guys") but not at the level of empire.

    But maybe this is a continuation of another conversation.

    He's not very mobile guy as President, so seated is probably is preferred position for a photo opp. Also, for Trump, he probably thinks he looks more powerful sitting behind his oval office desk. Like he imagines a business guy would be.
