IIRC Ducks Unlimited is rooted deeply in the hunting community. I know there are probably others, but this is one of the more prominent NGOs that has this model.

I personally worked with fishing communities that wanted MPAs (Cordova, Alaska) to mitigate commercial overfishing.

I wish there was more cross-pollination between the hunting/fishing and conservation communities.

I'm guessing that's not because you're a huge supporter of the mass shooter 'demographic' so... why were you banned?

The president cited a specific law in his executive order. I cited most of that law, I can link to it if you’d like.

    Here:

    https://uscode.house.gov/view.xhtml...lim-title10-section12406&num=0&edition=prelim

there is no “provision” for “consultation”

And it appears the judge that this is in front of intends to rule tonight. In the event he rules in favor of Newsom and California….DoJ will no doubt appeal. And by the logic of Newsom’s approach to this…we wait for the appeals process to play out.

And then what. And what about all the time in between.

We are setting the precedence that it is not the obligation of the US military to disobey clearly illegal and unconstitutional orders. It is their obligation to follow orders until a court declares those orders unconstitutional. That is so ********ing dangerous that I generally do not understand why people are arguing this point with me.

Now…I know that the US army and the DoJ are controlled by the executive branch. And our ONLY recourse is to wait for the courts…and hope that the military….as opposed to the administration…honors a court ruling. But this is different. This is a state’s militia disobeying the orders of THEIR commander and chief. That….cannot happen. We cannot let that happen. Newsom cannot let that go. And every Dem governor needs to be preparing for this…and making clear to their own NG commanders that they will be relieved of command if they don’t obey their orders.

These aren’t a bunch of dipshit enlisted. These are general officers who don’t rise to that rank in the military or guard by being too stupid to understand the laws by which they receive orders.

This chuckle******** knows what the law states. He knows these orders were bullshit. He did it anyway. Waiting for the courts to tell him that is a ********ing cop out and is reason enough to relieve him of command.

Okay Noem's goons took Alex Padilla to the ground and cuffed him, during a press conference at which he tried to ask questions. He's the ranking member on the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration, so presumably Noem knows who he is. The story that he a) lunged at her and b) should have identified himself in advance is utter horseshit.

He's also, you know, named Padilla.

    Another norm bites the dust.

    Link includes video.

There is a genuine debate in the religion about whether or not the “stewards of the earth” means being responsible or doing whatever the f******** they feel like. Unfortunately, the immature libertarian take is the predominant one.

Didn’t they release him once his ass calmed the f*** down?

He literally did his own press conference 15 minutes later. The whining and grandstanding is next level.

If I have to avoid your posts that address sociopolitical issues, nothing else you may have gotten right is going to matter.

Stilton was more than willing to support a Christian agenda. I remember several things we had in common, but they're insignificant because his voting tendencies affected me and other oppressed minorities.

Given the history of Mormons and the federal government….i think I should be surprised by this. I’m not as I know they vote overwhelmingly republican and therefore their deeply held beliefs are malleable

Well, and don’t be too surprised, Mormons don’t focus on learning that early history. I was actively warned against it when I told my church leaders I was going to the state university and not BYU.

I don't remember being told why, just that one day I had insufficient privileges to post there. Probably resulted from a heated disagreement. Like I said, I'm not really worried about it and never bothered to follow up.

Yeah, but Fascist Barbie is full of crap, claiming she didn't know who he was. If the White House Press Secretary can't identify one of the two Senators of the state she's visiting, maybe she should quit her job and focus on taking care of her sugar daddy.

If she was in any way capable of thinking on her feet, she could have defused the situation by offering him a seat in the front row and calmly answering his questions. Instead, she gave him the perfect visual, and interviews on all the news shows.

You believe every Biden cabinet official knew the faces of all 100 senators? Or 435 representatives?

No, but I believe that if a Biden administration official traveled to a state during a crisis, they would at least be familiar with one of the most important political figures in that state. That's a pretty basic thing for someone who is competent at their job.

Padilla sits on the Senate Judiciary Committee's Subcommittee on Immigration, Citizenship, and Border Safety. Given the Trump administration's focus on immigration and the border, you'd think the Press Secretary would know who he is.

So, yeah, the blow-dried sugar baby is lying.

Yeah, she didn't know the Senator from the very state she's focusing on right now. That tracks.

    @yossarian

Help me out here on the potential next steps in this Newsom v Trump NG case. Ruling last night was stayed until noon today pending appeal. DOJ has appealed to the 9th circuit already. If the 9th upholds the ruling….DoJ will immediately go to SCOTUS on an emergency basis. I think these appeals go to the SCOTUS justice that oversees that district first. Do they have the power to unilaterally deny those? I thought they did. ‘Cause the 9th circuit justice is Kagan. Does she have the power to kill this emergency appeal on her own?
