Jesus Holy Christ on a bicycle built for three-- that thing makes the Spruce Goose look like a Cessna. Are we really sure it can fly? Are we really sure there's a runway large enough to land it?
Homeland Security Dept. accuses lawmakers of ‘storming’ an ICE facility despite oversight laws saying they could be there "It was a day of love...release them all."
All these idiots who get pissed off at LGBTQ-related flags and think the country only needs one flag. Some twatwaffle: "Having an exclusive flag that excludes most of society is absurd." Me: "So does that include the flag of your favorite sports team or NASCAR driver? What about the Confederate flag or your state's flag?" I'm sure MAGA doesn't see the problem with this:

I really shouldn't be surprised... I guess he ran out of space to write "except the illegals, PoC, LGBTQ and others, who infiltrate our Country every day with their Radical Agendas!!!!"
I'm guessing they think the constitution isn't, as google AI says, 'the supreme law of the United States, outlining the structure and powers of the federal government, and guaranteeing the rights of citizens'. It's more a set of suggestions, meant to provide help and guidance as to how the state should be run.
It's even less complicated than that. They have no set of core beliefs except for power. That they get to slow walk it due to having decades to continue the slide just means they can push and pull at their leisure.
TIL there is an actual “Trojan” airplane. Was really hoping to find a cartoon Trojan horse with wings and a 747 top deck.
Can you imagine Obama even accepting anything close to that? It would be headline news 24/7 on Fox...
As an aside--one takeaway I already have from Trump regardless of how this ends is that the old bromide "Respect the office, not the man" needs to go. The office itself is now tainted beyond repair. I'm still a bit amazed at how radicalized I'm becoming.
At some point it becomes insane to expect the same people who have done nothing to stop any of the worst excesses of Trumpism to suddenly rise from their slumber and do their jobs. This is who they are. The mere idea of the Congressional GOP suddenly realizing the moral and practical bankruptcy of Trumpism and riding in to the rescue is almost absurdly hilarious.
Well.....The clown is backing down.....All that noise for basically nothing... U.S. and Chinese officials said Monday they had reached a deal to roll back most of their recent tariffs and call a 90-day truce in their trade war for more talks on resolving their trade disputes. Stock markets rose sharply as the globe’s two major economic powers took a step back from a clash that has unsettled the global economy. U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said the U.S. agreed to drop its 145% tariff rate on Chinese goods by 115 percentage points to 30%, while China agreed to lower its rate on U.S. goods by the same amount to 10%.”
This reasoning is like coming into a person's home, breaking a valuable antique vase, coming back a couple of months later to gift them a crappier, less valuable vase and then asking them "how do you like your new vase?".
10% vs 30%. Hopefully this will help open China to more American products and offset some of the still significant imbalance.
I don’t think Mr. Kristol is pretending that any of them will do the right thing. I think he is pointing where the real rot is, instead of blaming Dems for “not doing anything.”
I'm realizing those who during the last Presidency advocated for abolishing ICE were right. A new agency needed to be created and former ICE agents could be allowed to apply for jobs.
And in the meantime you’ve seen companies make billions in US manufacturing investment commitments. As a foreigner you obviously don’t care about that, but it’s important for our blue collar community.
I was pretty much already down with that--but I certainly feel the urgency much more now. Gotta be honest--I'm more on board for a wholesale revamping of ALL American policing after this shitshow.
I remember a deep-seated chill when the Department of Homeland Security was announced. The call-back to regimes foul and fouler was impossible to ignore, and I got in a few family fights about what the name evoked. I was righter than I feared.
Trump will always toss a shiny new thing for the media to obsess over. EDIT: I mean continually changing his tune on tariffs & trade; not at ALL playing the "Authoritarian statements are just distractions from the price of eggs" game.
