Perhaps the only silver lining to all this is that it might make it easier for US fans to buy tickets for the World Cup if traveling fans from other countries are wary of winding up in a Salvadoran prison. In 1994, ticket prices were reasonable (IIRC Cat 2 was $45 for group games and maybe $50-$65 for later rounds). Given the cost of tickets in general for concerts or sporting events, I assume they will be in the stratosphere.
Welp. The Qatari megajet has been accepted. I'm sure the next step will be to take a few years to cover it in tacky fake gold and scrub it for listening devices while Donald "Veruca Salt" Trump angrily posts, in all-caps, of course, "I WANT IT NOW!!!" Ya know, he *did* say we'd never again need to vote.
The US Air Force (USAF) will now focus on rapidly upgrading the plane to meet the requirements for presidential transport... 1925250684535939487 is not a valid tweet id
Sounders front office offered season ticket holders an advanced sale to get first crack at preferred seating. I declined since the prices were outrageous. Now the people who took that offer are pissed as the value of their tickets has plummeted.
Anyone that bought the tickets through the team can get a full refund. From what I understand, the team contacted them via email with instructions on how to do it.
Bands won't play there? I always kinda thought that was the sort of atmosphere they were seeking. Just leave the decent equipment at home and bring that shitty Teisco Del Rey with the Formica t- oh, you mean Big Bands. EDIT: Song told me. Sorry!
Holy shit, this just dawned on me -- the reason why Trump dyes himself orange is a tribute to the Oompa Loompas who nursed his parents back to health inside the factory. Wow. It all makes sense.
Last month in Ireland (maybe it was Portugal?) I saw a tourism advertisement for New Jersey. I couldn't help but laugh.
We're just like Monaco. Beaches, casinos and you can have your own Grand Prix on the Turnpike any time you'd like.
There's a big brother/little brother thing with NY and NJ, which is putting it mildly. And since NY has the population and the cultural currency, the whole country kind of adopts it. Others will I'm sure be able to add seasoning to this characterization.
