Well, just for this very specific part of the macro post -- I think this specific example would have less to do with the pedophilia part and more to do with the family part.

As for the rest -- I actually don't have a huge problem with taking joy over bad things happening to bad people. Especially when we're talking about people who are causing active harm to others. I'm not religious, and I don't believe in karma or all that nonsense, so I don't feel so constrained by what I'm "supposed" to feel in these situations. I had no sympathy when Rush Limbaugh died, as I believe he might truly be more responsible for the political divide in this country than any other single individual.

I won't have sympathy for Dick Cheney, as I think he advocated for some truly evil policy, and I would have actively celebrated him getting cancer as it would have ended his ability to negatively influence things. I WOULDN'T celebrate such cancer now, as he isn't doing active harm at this moment, and him getting cancer doesn't do any good for any one or any thing.

Fair enough. I'm pretty sure I don't have either one in my extended family, so I know I'm fortunate in that regard.

I'll disagree with the bolded. I think it would give a lot of people heart and encouragement to continue living.

Certainly an outlier, but is at least in line with the general trends ticking up for Trump.

Not all that surprising now that DOGE and Elon Musk is largely out of the news.

Yes, Trump has always been extremely polarizing, you are not telling us anything new.

But you clearly get most of your life's jollies out of clowning Trump over his job approval and stock market fluctuations than there is any genuine concern over his administration. Like with the guys feigning concern over immigration and deporting actual gangmembers, it's all just a game for the afflicted.

It's great, you're making assertions instead of just hanging out bland statements waiting for somebody to trip over them or something

If you are not pro-police, and not for getting rid of brown immigrants, then you are not really concerned.

Around 1am ET tonight, there's gonna be a big vote to do the following:
    1) Cut funding to Medicare.
    2) Cut funding to SNAP.
    3) Tax cuts for the wealthy.

    There's a reason why it's happening at 1am.

But I guess we're all getting tax cuts since we make more than MeeMaw and PawPaw down in the trailer park.

If you tipped in cash, shouldn't have been an issue in the first place.

it's on cash tips only. Credit card tips still get taxed. Essentially, strippers benefit the most, while those servers and bartenders working in upscale restaurants(where most customers pay with a CC), get screwed. Having worked in the restaurant business during my younger days, it was rare for a restaurant to enforce paying taxes on your cash tips(via reporting it directly onto your manager so they can add it to your statement). The way to avoid it is to not deposit the majority of your tips into a bank account.

Now we get more information about the 747, and it's starting to make sense.

This was never a gift - the White House was looking for a new Air Force One because the one Boeing is building won't be ready for years and Trump doesn't want the old thing he's flying now. So they saw this airplane that's been on sale for 5 years and inquired. Trump said it's a gift to make it more palatable for Americans because obviously it's outrageous for Trump to spend so much money on something that only serves his sense of self-aggrandizement and little to serve the head of state in his actual jobs.

    Section 26
When I worked at a restaurant, the boss essentially just picked a $/hr number that would keep everyone out of trouble and reported that. That way, if you got cut early on a slow night, it wasn’t a huge deal as you had made up for it by under-declaring most of your other nights.
