So this is just more proof that "some lives matter". And they also don't realize that FTM is a thing. I guess they want FTM people using women's restrooms and competing with women. It's also great to see the military doesn't need the extra support that trans people are willing to give them. /s
I'm not sure I'd want to cornhole any of them, but using a Bic lighter and can of hairspray could be fun
I'm sure this 8646 stuff is patriotic. https://www.amazon.com/8646-Republican-Trump-86-T-Shirt/dp/B09FHMNZ51 https://www.amazon.com/AV-Political-Sticker-Stickers-President/dp/B09MSLGLG3
So it looks like the real reason Qatar gave Trump the 747 is that they have been trying to get rid of it for 5 years and no one would buy it, so they are dumping this white elephant on someone that would think this ostentatious display of wealth is really peachy. https://www.forbes.com/sites/jeremybogaisky/2025/05/14/qatar-747-trump/ (paywall) If Trump was given this thing in the time before his crypto bribe wealth, it would probably have bankrupted him. This thing is a completely different class of cost compared to his previous jet.
I don't even think it was that. It was just being politically clueless as to how it made them look and not just among minorities but among the wider left, particularly the young. It doesn't explain the loss though. It's just the usual thing with left-wing parties where the right of the party has to blame 'teh left' when they lose rather than examining their own failings.
When the plane is "donated" to the trump library (even typing that is hard with straight face ), who covers the upkeep costs? Not sure how those libraries work. I'm guessing it won't be the orange moron though.
These libraries are all done with private donations. I assume Trump wouldn't want to just display the jet (as is done in the Reagan library) and wants the library to administer it while he uses it post presidency.
Since I've often referred to Romania's experiences with dictatorships when discussing America's Trumpist experience, you may be pleased to know that the Romanian far-right candidate George Simion (the "Romanian Trump" as he called himself) lost the presidential election by a significant difference against the center-left candidate Nicusor Dan. The final result will be something like 54-46 or 53-47. What is more remarkable is that Simion had a massive lead in the first round from 2 weeks ago, he won nearly 41% (against 21% of the second placed - Dan). However, he gained very little and, more importantly, the possibility that a pro-russian hooligan could win literally lit a fire under the ass of the pro-UE and pro-NATO voting population and the turnout increased significantly, by 12%, which voted overwhelmingly for Dan. As an amusing note, Dan gained more new voters than Simion's total number from the first round (Simion won 41% with 3.862.000 votes; Dan gained around 4.1 million additional votes besides what he got in the first round). America, watch and learn! We experienced inflation and hardship as well, but we still found the resilience to say "******** off" to the "Romanian Trump". And Simion was a more presentable candidate than Trump, with him being younger, coherent and not an oligarch. However, we are not going down in face of cheap reactionary populism! Simion tried to play the homophobia card, because Dan, despite being a centrist, is known to be sympathetic. Even though Romania is rather conservative on social issues, it did not work.
Ha...meet Mr Bookman! "You put on a pair of shoes when you walk into a New York Public Library, fella!"
My friend, you guys have seen the other side of midnight, we're no good things happen. A large number of Americans have not and oftentimes it's the Liberals preventing some of these stupid policies like we're about to see with this around cuts to services. So they still believe that everything will be okay. Hopefully we'll get through this and 10 years or 15 when Trump dies and a new leader is elected..
By the way, America loses perfect credit score after 106 years, Trump furious For the first time since 1919, the United States has lost its perfect credit score. The influential assessor Moody's lowered the so-called Triple A status of the country on Friday evening. Reason: the sky-high national debt, which has now risen to 36,000 billion dollars. White House furious: 'Excessive' The White House therefore reacts fiercely. First, it said in a statement that it would mainly focus on "cleaning up Biden's mess." This was followed by harsh criticism: "If Moody's had had any credibility, they would not have remained silent during the financial chaos of the past four years," said spokesman Kush Desai. Trump communications director Steven Cheung, meanwhile, personally lashed out at Mark Zandi, the chief economist of Moody's. He calls him a "political opponent" of Trump. Incidentally, Zandi has nothing to do with the credit assessment itself, which is done by a separate branch of the agency. Former Trump adviser Stephen Moore calls the judgment excessive. "If a U.S. government bond is not worthy of triple A, what is?" he told Reuters news agency.
Moody's is getting all the crap for this, but they were the third one to lower their ratings. btw, not sure what this "perfect" credit score thing is. There were two other downgrades: one post GFC and the other post Pandemic.
