Actually he wouldn't be allowed in. Period. America is Ground Zero for COVID-19 now and there's no reason to import its problems.
Yeah seems funny how sports are probably going to be the only thing that sink it for parts of the US population. The Blue Jays are going to have to play all their games in America (either Buffalo or a groundshare with another team). I was perusing a college football forum (skews conservative politically) the other day and someone ACTUALLY had the idea that maybe New Zealand would let the NFL host its season. It is very, very clear that America as a whole could use some lessons about how the world works.
True. I'd posted immediately after reading about Toronto's Rugby League team withdrawing from the season and possibly/probably folding altogether because they can't play any home games at all. My mistake. He'll almost certainly have to go into quarantine though, most likely in a hotel. Conditions will be fine, but it'll be boring as hell.
Not attacking you, but seems to me, Instagram is for people who like to feel good while pressing a button of themselves. /Ot. Def looking forward to Josh's role next season.
From ESPN, the article headline is about Pulisic, but there are also Berhalter comments about other US players, including Sargent. Sound familiar?
i thought the salzburg rumor was probably wishful thinking, but salzburgs record attacking transfer okafor was a roughly 8 million player like sargent who they acquired for 12 million. granted okafor was a bit younger, but at the very least this wouldnt be wholly unprecedented in terms of activity for them
We hope it's a friendlier coach with a better offensive plan (though I'm not sure about Josh's fit in their general scheme). But it's a decent drop in competition. Are we sure that it's worth it?
If it means I don't have to watch Bremen play again, yeah, very worth it. Also, playing in Austria didn't hurt the really long list of guys who have moved from Salzburg to better leagues.
I think that is complete BS, nothing on this other than FB. It makes zero sense for Bremen, they literally JUST gave Sargent a big new contract and he is exactly the type of player they will need in order to try and stay up next season. https://www.si.com/soccer/2019/02/26/josh-sargent-werder-bremen-long-term-contract-usmnt
That seems like a harsh way of putting it. Sometimes experiencing the success against lesser competition Helps a player get his mojo back. So I am not sure that Josh is actually missing his mojo, so I’m not sure that it matters that much here.
last i heard... Bremen actually like Josh. Bremen are actually staying up and need him. The Salzburg rumor makes very little sense because of those two things. Obviously stupider things have happened, but another year in the BL seems far more appealing than the scant Champions League matches RBsalzburg can offer.
I can see him fighting another relegation battle with Bremen this coming season, everything pretty much the same. They're sticking by their coach and there are no rumors of upgrades for the team. So we're going to be following Schalke & Bremen a lot. Yay.
I think of "helps his ego" as having a negative connotation about him, but perhaps that wasn't intended. If so, my mistake.
