"I mean, the guy has like 1,300 Twitter followers and 200 people watch his show." Yaaa absolutely this guy has no contacts. Among others that have been on his show are Alexi Lalas, Eric Wynalda and Brain S. and more but yeaa he has no sources.
Is Brain S supposed to be Brian Schweitzer? Anyway, the first two guys may be plugged into North America soccer but no way I’d give the podcaster osmotic Euro cred based on him having those two guys in his show.
Perhaps not the most neutral source, but some nice praise nonetheless from Norwich's vice-captain Kenny McLean: “He’s by a distance the best striker in the league, there’s no doubt in my mind. “I’m not being biased, I think most teams would say that. We’re lucky to have him and we need to keep using him to our advantage and keep feeding him more in front of goal.
It's not transfer strategy, it's low-resolution transfer valuations. It's info that you could get from a wide variety of sources, not the nuclear codes. Agents and teams nowadays even plant stories/rumors to help tip the scales in negotiations, and while that's certainly not what's happening here, you could easily see transfer fee rumors being spread. It's plenty possible to have heard something like the asking price for a forward that has been involved in trade talks for months. You know a guy who knows a guy who's involved, bam, tweet about it.
Apologies, let me follow up with, that I think it's entirely possible that the guy heard from someone else that they heard "Norwich would want at least x amount to sell Sergant." That would be completely fair in what you described, I just don't believe that said information is worth anything more than that and it would be fair to criticize that information and or valuation.
Up for team's Player of the Month: 🗳️ 𝘼𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝🧱 Callum Doyle🫡 Josh Sargent🕺 Borja Sainz🔋 Marcelino Núñez It's time to vote for the player of the month, presented by Anglian Home Improvements 👇— Norwich City FC (@NorwichCityFC) September 2, 2024
Kept out of tonight's friendly as a precaution: Josh Sargent experienced irritation in his left ankle in training (not the previously injured right ankle), per USSF.— Steven Goff (@SoccerInsider) September 10, 2024
Cripes! He, Gio and Tyler Adams need to open their own field hospital. Did they drink the same water as John O’Brien?!
High praise for #USMNT striker Josh Sargent from his club coach Johannes Hoff Thorup. pic.twitter.com/7OwB0HdzAS— Doug McIntyre (@ByDougMcIntyre) September 27, 2024 The 24-year-old Ginger has 35 goals in 106 appearances for Norwich. He may still have a higher level, we will see.
Derby really got hosed this game. After the “assist”…ball clearly out again for a DC corner…NC counter and Josh with a beautiful assist to make it 3-1. No VAR in a league with resources like this is just kind of shocking.
I watched a few champs league games so far this season - Leeds and Norwich - and I have to say there is a rhythm in the game without VAR that I miss in leagues that adopted VAR. It may just be that they are using Champs league as a foil for the Prem. i.o.w., they'll try to figure out why VAR is such a buzz kill by comparing the two leagues.
2nd assist: JOSH SARGENT OUTSIDE-OF-THE-BOOT ASSIST. 🇺🇸A thing of beauty, & his second of the game 😍pic.twitter.com/xq4b3lWk66— Men in Blazers (@MenInBlazers) September 28, 2024
