Honestly, going down might be the best thing for Sargent’s career. He needs to play for a team who isn’t the weakest team in the league to build some confidence.
Does Farke coach them to play combo play at all .... Sargent made good passes and movement but just did not see that from the rest of the squad.
I Pukkied a little in my mouth... In all seriousness - we are likely seeing a replay of Jozy/Benny/Hull/Derby/S'land (just to name two of many players this happens to.) Team choice matters and the difference between a good top-end Champs player and a servicable bottom 1/3 EPL/Bund player is usually just club luck/finances/coaching/injuries. Still hoping that Josh gets a few opportunities to bust out and get some attention - maybe one game where he explodes for a couple of goals or assists, just to get noticed and take a bit of the stink off. Being a young player on a team headed for the drop is not as dire as being mid-career. Will be interesting to see if Norwich keep him in the Champs or if he can force a decent move.
The truth is, and no one will admit to it, some of the worst teams ever in Europe have had Yanks in it who were pretty much part of the problem. Eddie Lewis (who played a lot more than Feilhaber for that unhappy Derby) was often putrid on the left. Jozy missed sitters. Sarge was miserable getting involved in goal-scoring sequences, etc.
Norwich has the most unathletic prem squad I’ve seen in a long time. Very little dynamic attributes. Which doesn’t help their lack of top end talent. Bad combo.
Man, you're so full of yourself. "I'm gonna tell it like it is because nobody else can admit it." Many of us can see, and do comment, on the deficiences of Yanks. Fact is on any relegated team nearly every player is part of the problem. They're just not good enough. Maybe 1 or 2 are better than the level they're playing. It's not just a Yank thing. And it's not just about the players. And Jozy didn't get relegated IIRC.
Flame me all you want, but that is the case here with Norwich too. Sarge had his moments with Bremen. Here, he looks useless. And it's not all on his mates. It doesn't mean he won't improve in a different setup, but while on Bremen you could see him doing some of the right things expected from an attacking player, here he keeps putting himself in the wrong place time and again.
The key different between the ignorant and the imbecile is that the ignorant is willing to learn. [We do need a sarcasm font.]
Hardly. Some who are ignorant, certainly are willing to learn, but many are just ignoramuses because they are unwilling to learn and have no mental or physical excuse for not doing so.
Their center defense is actually better than last game. But their midfielders are bunch of yoyos. Instead of passing the balls to their two forwards who are on very good position, their mids are trying some low percentage shots.
some of the worst teams ever in Europe also have had no Americans on them. if your team does not do combo play and you make good passes and runs off the ball and get no service .. not a whole lot to do. Norwich are just very poor. Farke has much bigger problems than Sargent and Rashica and their shooting and scoring. but it is all good .. keep polishing the marble in your ivory tower.
And someday you'll learn that Jozy was hoisting the Treble in TO when Sunderland were being relegated post-Dafoe... I'm sure you will...
From whom here have you learned? When have you changed your mind in response to an argument offered on big soccer?
It's always open to change. I still think Sarge is going to prove a decent enough player, but I'm not going to lie and say he's doing well right now.
