Nope, Germany only played Italy twice. England came to Germany and Germany played in Hungary during the June break. I bought them on the official DFB and Wembley websites

As far as I can see they talking about October - not sure he will be quite ready for the WC pity … but hope he comes back as strong . Hopefully he will shine in the euros with Musiala .

Havertz is also still young the three of them will lead out attack for years to come - plus adeyemi hopefully .

So do we know if the World Cup teams will be a team
Of 26 or 23 ?

With 26 at least one or two youngsters like nmecha or Adeyemi have a guaranteed ticket

 

Dunno, but with the expansion starting with the 2026 World Cup I'm pretty sure a 26 player team will be the norm. I believe a similar thing should happen with the Champions League now that they're expanding too, as UEFA only allows 18 eligible players.

 

Seriously on 18 players for the whole season or half season ?

If they have a few injuries and Suspension you would not be able to put up a team with full subs .

Seems very limited .

 

Ohh wait I see you can register 25 players for the team squad - but only 18 players out of those 25 per game .

26 players
FIFA has increased the number of players that each country is allowed to bring to the 2022 Qatar World Cup. Teams can now select between 23 and 26 players and can name 15 substitutes for each match.

Meaning that 3 players won’t have to stay behind but the coaches can have all the players on the bench .

 

So if Götze has a great few months now - bar Frankfurt team starting to play a bit better I would put money on it that Flick will nominate him for the World Cup.
Flick is a Götze fan - and to be honest I would prefer Götze over Draxler or even Brandt sitting on the bench . As Said who knows maybe he will make a return and shine once more for us and score a winning goal in the final . Hahaha

Would be one hell of a story wouldn’t it !

Cologne (SID) - national coach Hansi Flick raves about Mario Götze (30). "I would also like to have brought him to Bayern Munich. He's just a player who has his enormous strengths in the last third - that's why he would have been a good addition," said Flick in the podcast "More than a game" of the DFB- foundations.

Götze could still be an issue for the desert World Cup in Qatar. The new signing of the Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt gave the German national team their fourth World Cup title in 2014 with their winning goal in the final against Argentina (1-0 aet).

"If Messi had scored that, we would probably see that goal 300 times a year. The cross came, he took the ball with his chest ? that was a fluid movement, a world-class goal. It was actually the goal of the decade, of the century," praised Flick.

Absolutely agree, great technical goal, including the pass from Schurrle, and should have been the goal of the tournament. If I remember correctly, it was a similar goal by James Rodrigues that was selected as goal of the tournament. But I thought it wasn't as difficult, and seriously, we are talking about a WC winning goal here. (My memory, as always, biased towards Germany so I may be wrong here.)

 

To this day whenever I rewatch Götze's goal I still can't believe it was a goal. It always looks to me like the ball hit the net from the outside.
