Happy to see Ginter back at Freiburg…probably the best decision at this stage of his career since he has kind of stagnated…he should be able to lead Freiburg defense and under Streich he will improve hopefully…at 28, he still has lot of football left in him specially as he is a CB…given that we do not have elite CBs, it is important that Ginter remains relevant for another 2-3 years at a minimum

Hofmann great goal.... Do you guys think he will get a spot on Hansies team....

Basically left back between , Raum, Gunther and Gosens seems to be filled up more then sufficient.

Right back who do we have there? Kehrer, Heinrichs and Hofman and who else?

Sule can also play a very good RB, and Baku is an option.

If we go 3 CB then Hofmann can be an excellent RWB:

    Werner Havertz Gnabry

    Raum Goretzka Kimmich Hofmann

    Schlotterbeck Rudiger Sule

    Neuer

very nice! Cant help getting into my Löw trauma/ flashbacks with Germany playing 3 at the back though. Think Flick will go for his standard formation with 4 at the back (Maybe assymetric) considering the limited time before WC. Think Müller probably starts to due to experience, communication etz

Found Wirtz rehabbed and walking without crutch now may be he will make WC or even sooner start to play again by early next season.

I think so too. Probably this:

    Werner

    Sane Muller Gnabry

    Goretzka Kimmich

    Raum Schlotterbeck Rudiger Sule

    Neuer

    -Ginter

    -ter Stegen
BY AGREEMENT WITH FLICK: TER STEGEN WILL BE PAUSED IN JUNE
National goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen will not be nominated for the four games of the national team in the UEFA Nations League against Italy, England and Hungary in June after a lengthy conversation with national coach Hansi Flick.

Hansi Flick says: "Marc and I spoke very openly and extensively about his personal situation in the national team and at FC Barcelona. Marc is one of the best goalkeepers in the world. Due to injuries, however, he has not been able to take the summer breaks for the past two years use it for regeneration. Especially with regard to the upcoming World Cup in Qatar, we both agreed that a normal game and training break this year is important and makes sense."

"National coach agrees with me that I need this break"
Marc-André ter Stegen adds: "I'm always very happy with the national team and I'm happy about every nomination. On the other hand, after three intensive seasons without a summer break in between, I'm happy that the national coach agrees with me that I need this break and supported me through it."

The national team will move into a short training camp in Marbella from May 23rd to 27th before the start of the Nations League. From May 30th, the team will be guests at the "Home Ground" in the "World of Sports" of DFB partner adidas in Herzogenaurach. The DFB team will play their first game in the Nations League on June 4 in Bologna against European champions Italy. This is followed by the games against England on June 7th in Munich (click here for tickets for the England game), the away game against Hungary in Budapest on June 11th and the second leg against Italy on June 14th in Mönchengladbach (click here for tickets). it to the tickets for the Italy game). The final two Nations League games in Leipzig against Hungary and England are scheduled for September.

Every time Kroos has been subbed off in the Champions league knockout stages this season, Real Madrid have started to play way better and managed to make a comeback(first vs PSG, then vs Chelsea and now vs Man City). He was outplayed in the big Champions League matches in the previous 2 seasons as well. He's clearly over the hill physically. I'm glad he has retired from the national team. His retirement has been a big boost for us this season.

Kroos has had a good career. Multiple league titles, four CL titles with a possible fifth on the way (the most of any German footballer) and a World Cup title.

All in all, an absolute legend.

Trapp cementing that 3rd GK spot with EL finals.

Rode and Knauff making themselves contenders. Although likely U21 for Knauff.

What is the general opinion about Rode? Does he deserve a call up in June given he is having a fabulous season?

If Eintracht Frankfurt win the EL and Rode excels in the CL group stage, I he has a shot.

It's remarkable the lack of recognition for Kroos - amazing career.
