Lol, that was the exact one time I mentioned earlier that Kroos was upset at being subbed. Thanks for confirming. One of the reasons it was made into such a big deal is because the dude just didn’t do that kinda thing. It was jarring, especially in such a high stakes match that wasn’t going our way. There is no trend at all of Kroos doing that. Modric wanting to play as many matches as possible to stay in rhythm isn’t “throwing his toys out the pram” at all. Be serious. I repeat, this notion that Modric and especially Kroos always lose their shit or cause problems when subbed is BULLSHIT. Is it difficult to bench players with such reputation and leadership positions in the locker room? Sure, no shit. We’ve been through this before with Raul and others. The club/manager want to show them the proper respect and give them a chance to get back on form. This isn’t outlandish even if it can be frustrating to us who obsess over the playing time of our young mids. But that is not what you’ve been so desperately trying to make this out to be, no matter how much you want Kroos and Modric to retire or be the cause of all our issues. They are vets who still have something to offer but have reached that tough spot where they simply cannot be counted on to be at 100% effectiveness week in and out. It’s up to Carlo to pick the best team for each match. These guys have pull but both are out of contract this summer so they aren’t giving ultimatums out here.
