I personally didn't see much defensive contribution or energy from him in the second half, but it's still pre-season I guess.Isco was...Isco.
Hmm, I wouldn’t trust him as a CM. Play him at AM or as RW. I’ll admit, I’m not really into him as a player. Was hoping he’d grow a bit more over the years in terms of stature and maybe develop even the smallest inkling of a right foot. Haha. Overall I hope he does well, but I don’t have the same impression of him as many of you.

I didn't see anything much from Martin with or without the ball to be honest but it's only one game and the first game, so, we'll see
Yup but i think our lack of control over the game is partly down to his contribution or lack thereof in the middle of the pitch, he's got to get on the ball more and make that happen,
Honestly i think our lack of fitness and our approach to the game were to blame more than any individual player, Rangers look fitter and tactically they were very well positioned accross the pitch, stifled most of our threats before the ball even left our defenders' feet.
I mean he carried the ball from his own box the entire field to the other box to assist Rodrygo on his goal. That's hardly nothing.
I think the game against AC Milan should be a bit better because most of our starters should be ready to be fielded.
Considering the time spent on the pitch and how the team performed in the middle of the park (no real control of the game which is where he comes in) not enough worth talking about IMO, Rodrygo did most of the hard work on that goal and had a better game overall, but as i said, context, it's one game and the first game, hopefully he'll be able to influence games more than what he showed today, he'll need to if he'll be replacing players like Luka and Toni, my view is solely based on today's game. Well you know my view, no one player can win us or lose us a game, and while i agree that Rangers looked fitter, eventually we will need him to exert far more influence in the middle of the park if he is to take over one of those spaces in the team, he's the one that's supposed to help us control games and break those lines and create the threats, if we fail to create much well he's PART of that problem, nothing much today IMO but, see above re context
It maybe time to bring Takefusa Kubo back into the fold. He has better finishing ability than many of the players that played the friendly yesterday. The kid has massive potential, and loaning him to Villarrreal last season put a dent in his confidence. Unai Emery is a snake, we shouldn't have loaned the player to his team.
This was Rangers 5th and last pre-season game. Their league season starts on July 31 and they also have CL qualifiers early August. They were obviously in way better physical condition than us. I wouldn't read too much into this. We will be in season ready shape by Aug 8 friendly against Milan and several starters will be back.

Don't we still have the Hyundai Superleague Bernabeu Trophy cup brought to you by Pepsi, coming up in August?
All true, personally i was just looking forward to seeing how some of the reserves and one or two young talents were shaping up in yesterdays' game, wasn't too worried about the result to be honest considering it was the first game back
I was curious about this. Makes sense. I'll take it into consideration but I'm not rely seeing alot from Odegaard in those highlights except turnovers.

True. I wouldn’t put stock in ANY pre season games. People say they don’t take them seriously and then proceed to criticize players and the team (pretty soon it’ll be the coach) and nitpick performances like it’s December already.
So who wants to start the countdown to our yearly shock over the fact Eden has shown up out of shape? I bet he gives us a twist and doesn't show up that badly out of shape but gets injured in the first week so it doesn't matter.
