The signing of Mikele Leigertwood is complete!

    Official Site

Mikele now usurps Marc Nygaard and Shabazz Baidoo as the hardest name to spell on the roster ;)

Yeah, both his first name and last name are going to get butchered on the message boards! :D

Gregory mentions the injury of Simon Walton when discussing why they were looking for someone like Leigertwood, so it looks like JG thinks Stefan Bailey just isn't ready to play week-in, week-out and was looking for a defensive-minded central midfielder to pair with two-way player Bolder.

    I didn't realize he is 6'4"!

The BBC gossip page says the Daily Express indicates "QPR have tried to bring Lee Cook back on loan from Fulham."

niiiice....though also not niiiice because Fulham would only give him up if they werent going to use him, which in some ways I hope isnt true, as Lee Cook has been one of my fave players for the last couple of years and I'd personally like to see him in the prem.

That's exactly how I feel. I want him to play for QPR. I want him to get a shot in the Premiership. While the former might be more important to me, I feel he has earned the shot to play at a higher level and hope he gets it.

But if he's not going to get playing time at Fulham, I can't think of anyplace better to loan him out than W12!

It seems like Cookie has been a victim of Fulham's spastic buying this summer. That squad is full of wingers.

Young QPR defender Aaron Goode has gone on a three-month loan to Kingstonian in the Isthmian League First Divison South. He'll be with Kingstonian through December 8th. Goode has yet to make an appearance with Rangers' first team.

The Daily Mail has the Rs linked with Neil Clement from West Brom in a possible loan deal. Interesting story for a few reasons, Neil is the son of QPR legend Dave Clement (who died tragically in the early 80s). Also seems to be a big asking price from West Brom and QPR are referred to in the story as "cash rich" (!!!) That's always going to sound weird...

OK - loan/signing rumours are great... but I don't like the idea of replacing Gregory one bit. I think he's done a nice job getting this squad together and provides some stability. Give him a chance with the added resources this season, then maybe reevaluate next summer (at the earliest).

I agree. If we've crept up to mid-table (or even the lower reaches of mid-table, but not too close to relegation) by January, I say give him a chance. If we're still in the relegation places in another month or two, though, I'm sure he'll go.

By the way, there's an interesting interview with GP up on the message board of a new QPR website, www.wearetherangersboys.com. If you don't want to register for their message board to read it, you can also find it on QPR Report's blog:

GP seems a little ambitious about our prospects before the window opens:

The rumors definitely have John Gregory under pressure...

The Daily Mail (quoting the Daily Mirror):

The Mail have QPR linked with a move for Brazilian defender Ze Maria...

How would this be affected by the transfer window and work permits? Not sure

Couldn't say about whether he's eligible for a work permit, but if he's currently out of contract, he shouldn't be impacted by the transfer window.

    Interesting...

Looks like he's definitely out of contract, but has not played for Brazil in over 6 years. I bet he holds a Portuguese passport though...

According to that, he played just 14 games last season for a La Liga team that had been promoted the year before and just escaped relegation in his one season with them. I wonder if he was injured for much of the year.

Well no matter what his level of play has been like in the past or at the moment, I don't see Briatore holding back on trying to get him. He'd be a full contract player who would give us another wide option. I'm sure he can't defend worth a lick, but that won't stop him playing right back for us though.

This will be an interesting test to see if players are now considering QPR a more attractive place to be. Depending on how far all this is along with Sheffield U, of course...QPR may just be swooping in to try and take advantage of whatever they can outside of the next transfer window. It also fits with the idea that alot of money will be spent in January as QPR are now going to some lengths to try and get players they probably wouldn't have made a try for a month ago.
