Looks like you lads are getting a Yank keeper! http://blogs.chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/soccer_redcard/2008/02/pickens-signs-w.html
Does he have access to an EU passport? Or does the whole work permit thing not apply to lower division teams. Brad Guzan recently was denied by the home office a move to Aston Villa I believe because of lack of a certain percentage of national team caps.
I'm not sure if he has an EU angle on a work permit - if not, I don't see how he's going to move over to us. Also, I'm not quite sure why the club are so obsessed with a new keeper (other than grabbing a back-up to Lee Camp). Perhaps the new regime is too obsessed with bringing in their own players...
From the blogosphere... apparently Pickens has a French wife and could qualify for a work permit via that route (although neither that fact or the work permit are sure things). I guess we shall see - no comment on the official site yet.
Indeed. I found this video from there first match this year in Chicago. Pickens makes the save of the week at 02:22 minutes into the video clip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xuqN8wHLqOM&feature=related

Finnish international defender/midfielder Sampsa Timoska has had his contract terminated by mutual consent and with immediate effect. Timoska joined the R's last January and made 21 appearances in all competitions. He seemed a pretty good player, but he's caught up in the numbers game these days. Also, Simon Walton has gone on loan to Hull City until the end of February.
Young defender Andrew Howell has gone on loan to Ryman Premier Division side Wealdstone through May 3rd.
The DeCanio regime has finally hired a keepers coach, David Rouse. Rouse on the current group of keepers:
19-year-old right back/center back Aaron Goode has gone on loan to Wealdstone through April 1st. He joins fellow QPR loanee Andrew Howell at the Ryman Premier Division side.
The loan of Adam Bolder has been extended through April 5th. He has played in 5 matches for the Owls, but under the terms of his present loan agreement he can't face the R's tomorrow.
There are some loud whispers that the Rs could be in the market for Portuguese playmaker Luis Figo this summer... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/ma...YourView&xml=/sport/2008/03/18/ufnfigo118.xml
