Does he essentially play the same type of role as Leigertwood? Where will he play for us?

According to the Watford site, we're paying £200,000 for Mahon with a further £50,000 possible based on clauses in the deal. Mahon's Watford contract ends at the end of this season -- no word yet on whether he's signing an extended deal with us.

Either way, it's a decent bit of business for Watford considering he's slipped down the pecking order there and would have left on a free at the end of the season anyway. Still, if Mahon is correct that there were 4 or 5 Championship teams interested in him, we were certainly going to have to pay something.

Same questions I have really. But maybe De Canio wants him to come in and play either alongside Leigertwood in midfield, fill in the defense (?) or just provide depth. Seems like De Canio likes playing with two holding midfielders behind Buzsaky (as a withdrawn forward/#10). I think in the early part of January, after Leigertwood's return we might be looking at (assuming we land Ephraim, otherwise Ains on the left)...

    -----------------Camp-------------------
    Lee-----Stewart----Rehman----Mancienne
    Rowlands--Leigertwood--Mahon--Ephraim
    ----------------Buzsaky------------------
    ---------------Blackstock----------------

Hopefully we'll land Matt Connolly from Arsenal to start ahead of Zesh. There is potential for this squad to become very deep and talented. Things are looking up!

    Thoughts?

Walton seems to have done well in central defense and is probably ahead of Zesh there.

I thought DeCanio was settling into a 4-4-1-1, but then he threw a curveball with his Watford starting lineup. Was it just too many games in a row and he thought we needed some fresh legs in for Buzsaky?

Definitely - that line-up decision was certainly made with one eye on the Leicester match. I'm sure he thought that he'd rest some key players and give a chance to guys like Barker, Nygaard and Balanta a chance to impress. And boy did they!

Now we've gotten our best result of the season and given Buzsaky a bit of rest. for tomorrow's big match - not to mention Saturday's!

    And the news keeps coming...

Tommy Doherty has had his contracted terminated by mutual consent and with immediate effect. He is expected to make a permanent signing with Wycombe, where he has spent time on loan this year and last.

27-year-old forward Patrick Agyemang has signed a 4 1/2 year deal with QPR after coming over from Preston for an undisclosed fee. 4 1/2 years?

The contracts for Hogan Ephraim (19 years old) and Matthew Connolly (20) are for 3 1/2 years.

Looks like good moves for the youngsters. I'm not as sure about the move for Agyemang.

The BBC now says "QPR are set to increase their January spending by completing the signings of Birmingham striker Rowan Vine and Wigan defender Fitz Hall."

Further, "Ex-Aston Villa keeper Stefan Postma, now with Dutch club ADO Den Haag, and Argentinean winger Sebastian Rusculleda are also in line to join the R's."

And, "Rangers have enquired about a number of other players, including Tottenham winger Wayne Routledge. A bid to re-sign former Rangers defender Dan Shittu from Watford has also been discussed and Birmingham centre-back Martin Taylor remains a target despite competition for his signature from Norwich City."

    Crazy, busy days in W12.

People on the qprdot.org board are posting that Sky Sports News is reporting that the Fitz Hall signing is confirmed and it'll be a 4 1/2 year deal.

Lots of 3 1/2 and now 4 1/2 contracts being thrown around by the new regime. I guess that's one way to convince a player to come to your club.

27-year-old defender Fitz Hall has signed a 4 1/2 year contract with QPR. Hall says he wanted to move back to London as he was born and raised there and he wanted to bring up his two kids there. He says he was very impressed with the ambition of the new owners and had talks with Leigertwood and Blackstock who both spoke "in glowing terms about the Club and the direction in which it is heading."

Hall moved from Palace to Wigan for £3million in the summer of '06. There's no word on our site what we paid for him.

Yeah. This is crazy and really cool... and just the beginning (we hope).

To have made trips to W12 to see us play the likes of Bury and Chesterfield, it's wonderful to feel like we have a legitimate shot, not just an ousider's hope, of playing Premier League football within two or three or four years. It's a nice shock to the system.

My wife and I are expecting a baby at the end of this month... I'll have to chant to her/him when they're a little older "where were you when we were sh*t?" :D

Holy SMOKES, I really lost track of time.
COOL! I'm so happy for you! :)

Does the club shop sell hooped infant pj's? If so, you've already made that purchase, right? RIGHT?

I caught the QPR bug roundabout 1991 or so (it was Sinclair, and the atmosphere at Loftus Road (from what I could see on TV) that got me).
So, I've mostly been in on the 'sh*t' part. This is dizzying.
But I'm also a Vikings fan, so I've learned to never get my hopes up too high... :p

Congrats! We had ours almost 2 months ago now, I dont think ive slept since but i wouldnt trade a second of it for anything. I already have a hooped shirt for her as well. its a little big but it says "cargiant" on it so in 8 years no one can accuse her of gloryhunting, she just made it under the wire!

    :)

Congrats to you as well! Good stuff.

I'll confess, the only R's jersey I have is "Ericsson."
...and it probably doesn't fit anymore.

Yes and Yes! I've got hooped onesies in all of the various sizes, plus a hooped blanket, wool cap, bibs (that say things like "dribbling for QPR"), etc. Pretty much anything they have for littles ones that size (and they had a much improved selection this season, fortunately).

Plus, last season, we bought a little baby light blue kit that was deeply discounted because it was a couple of years old. :) So, the little one will have an away jersey with Binatone on the front from a couple of seasons before it was born! :D

My first was an Ericsson, too. I think it still fits, but it's a size smaller than I buy these days. It has "Darlington" on the back, for Jermaine Darlington, and was signed by Stan Bowles (at the Springbok pub on the night after our blowout loss to Arsenal in the FA Cup in 00/01). :)

Have you anticipated the teenage rebellious years, and already purchased a Chelsea jersey as well? :p

(OK, that was mean. I apologize.) :D

Maybe the child will REALLY be rebellious and turn its back on all the commercialism of the league and wear a Hayes & Yeading United jersey around the house!!! Still west London!!! All the while shaking its head at its glory hunting parents!!!

My wife and sister went crazy about the time our son was born and he had a bunch of QPR stuff. Our daughters missed out on all that.

Just wait, in a couple of years you will be deciding if you should get tickets to QPR vs. Chelsea...or tickets to see the Wiggles in concert!!! Your fun is just beginning. Then later you will have to leave work early, because your wife will be taking 1 kid to a soccer game in one part of the metro area while you are taking another kid to a game on the whole other side of town!!! And you will love it all!!!
