The non-Dutch will probably not know much of this player, but they should Rick Hoogendorp from RKC LINK He's an attacker, and for the past few seasons he has been scoring goals left and right, being one of the best topscorers of the league. Not so shabby seeing as he's not even playing at one of the big three (or the big 5) This season so far: 3 games played, 5 goals scored. He would be perfect to fill the void that was left by the overrated Tomasson, and a great partner up front with van Hooijdonk in my opinion. Kind of surprised none of the bigger clubs have picked this player up yet.
I know this isn't the same, but I have thought that Clint Mathis would have been a great replacement for Tomasson. What do you think of that one?
I liked him at the World Cup, but he would probably cost more (because he's not from Europe) and might need some time to adjust to the Dutch League... plus his mohawk was oogly. Is he still playing in the US or did he find a European club this season?
Returned to Metrostars, injured his knee, then came back and scored in his first game back. Mohawk is gone, thank God. Pricetag: $3 Million and dropping.
One of the reasons he would fit in nicely at Feyenoord. Just saw him in person last Sat. vs. Galaxy, looked like he still had a bit of a 'hawk. Anyways, back on topic, this guy needs to get to Europe, his game is stagnating in MLS.
