http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/games/1298257/ps4-drm-controller-price-release-date-specs-news After a strong showing at E3, it looks like the PS4 could potentially dominate the 'console war'. Even Xbox zealots have thrown down their clunky pads in disgust at the Kinect always on and no lending policies, not to mention the always online shizzle. Enough trolling in the Xbox thread, let's keep it in here!
I'll eventually get one, but I'm in no hurry. The Order looked like a cool exclusive, but other than that nothing at their E3 press conference convinced me to buy one any time soon. I'll just wait until there's a new Uncharted game.
Uncharted, Last of Us, and the God of War franchise are the exclusives that make me want to go the PlayStation route.
Last of Us comes out today, going to pick up my pre-order during lunch. I'm looking forward to playing it, I always liked Naughty Dog games.
Just got back from Gamestop with my pre-order. Went to pre-order Xbone, sold out, PS4 they were still taking orders for. Had to stop by Target, they were sold out of the Last of Us, they said it went fast. Looking forward to playing it tonight.
http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/06/12/e3-2013-killzone-shadow-fall-has-made-me-a-believer I've always thought Killzone sucked but what they showed at e3 looked fantastic, especially the full view of this city (this is just a small part of what they showed running in engine):
To be fair, I only played the MP in KZ3 and thought it had some nice features, but overall was meh. I was talking more about the single player.
I will probably get it in couple of years when there are some Naughty dog and Quantic Dream (my favourite Sony developers) titles on the system.
Where is all the moaning and whining now that P$4 is putting its multiplayer online access behind a paywall, along with a required subscription to PlayStation Plus? Maybe this will prevent another multiple-day outage thanks to an "external intrusion".
I dont like it. Its greedy, but they learned from the best (aka greedy). Paying for online is becoming standard, because of M$
That's cool, I was just commenting on what I've played most in the Killzone series. Regarding single player I thought the lack of online co-op for Kz3 was a huge miss. Has there been any word if Shadowfall will have online co-op campaign? Right now the game I am most looking forward to on the PS4 is Transistor.
Orrrrrr. The cost for Sony to have a more stable integrated across all games and consoles (PS4 & PSV) online system requires more money than the company is willing to write off. Not sure which Country you are in teammellieIRANfan, but if ya wanted to make a dig at Microsoft, and live in a country with Netflix, you should have pointed out how that is still free to use without a PS+ subscription.
I live in Denmark, but that's not relevant. We are talking about online GAMING. When I pay for a game, then I pay for the whole shebang. Meaning the single player campaign, and multiplayer online. But I cant acess the online part (for which I have already payed) unless subscribing for a fee. In other words Sony/MS is holding the rest of my game as hostage, to their greed. lol There are ways around it imo. You could have a basic online mode, free of charge, which does not include all other features like cross game chat etc. The thing is the kind of subscription that M$ has, gives people no choice. And now Sony has adopted it. They want piece of that share/cake. So yeah, thanks a lot M$. But its not like Im staunchly principled and gonna make some kind of stand, by not paying. I will probably bend over and take it, like the rest of you suckers. lol
It's really stupid, however I'm not an online multiplayer guy so it doesn't bother me. I'll use my PC (infinitely more powerful than any console) if I want to play online games.
You know. I typed a long drawn out take on paying for the online service and why it is beneficial, looked at it, said to myself, "I don't even understand the point I am trying to make.", and then deleted it. Really it comes down to this, in my opinion, what Sony is doing with PSN, incorporating everything gaming related into PS+ is really going to improve the service and by extension gaming. Of course that opinion is shaped by the fact that I found Live to be so good that it was one of the main reasons the 360 was my go to console last generation with multiplatform games.
Hopefully that is true, and the service isn't hacked, shut down for days, and valuable user information isn't taken.
