The Prodigy: Kai Havertz thread

Draxler is one another talent who just never really pressed on. He should have been developed for the 8 position. Very similar physical build to Kroos and also possesses good technique. But just has not worked on the defensive side and to be a top midfielder.

 

Havertz is a CAM/CF not a winger. Lampard played him on the right in order to make room for guys like Mount and RLC who are not very good. Havertz should be better once Ziyech and Pulisic return too.

 

1st goal for Chelsea......although in League Cup.......vs Championship club. Whatevers they all count.

Previously I just watched his hattrick. After rewatch all goals, actually his persistence and tackle that enables Ross Barkley to score his goal. Fantastic performance from Kai, wish he could maintain the momentum.

 

Excellent performance by Kai, but in reality this was a championship division team Chelsea were playing, he needs to get match fit and keep the momentum going in his performances

 

Great performance from Kai. Really hope he can reproduce this consistently against PL and CL teams.

What a day for us as Havertz and Werner scoring assisting to win for Chelsea...can’t wait to see highlights

 

Both Werner goal were excellent, especially the second one.

 

Lol, Southampton managed to draw 3-3 from former Bundesliga player goal's Vestergaard. What a shambolic performance. Chelsea need to reinforce their defence before buying another attacking players. And it tells a lot Rudiger doesn't even get a place in bench, behind Zouma and Christensen.

 

Good news is as Chelsea continues to drop points due to poor defense, Rudiger will be back in the squad eventually and hopefully will improve his performance

 

On the 1st half, Sevilla totally outplayed Chelsea. Sevilla was very good, the defence is highly discplined, the midfield is compact and what lacking from them is finishing inside the box. They could become dark horse in UCL this season.

Kai and Pulisic tried hard but apparently it is not enough. And Timo barely doing any damage to Sevilla goalkeeper as the result. The 1st half scream Ziyech to come in replacing Mount. Someone with creativity to break the Sevilla defense.

 

What is his best position???

Lampard has him playing as a central midfielder in a 4-3-3 formation. In this formation he doesn't seem to be providing much goal threat but rather a supporting role wherever and whenever needed, which he does very well. But is he being wasted?

 

Damn. I was hoping he would start.
