    Doesn’t count!?!?!?!? What the hell?????

Yes, your perspective is more valid if we agree to not count facts that don’t fit your agenda.

But I, for one, don’t agree to that.

It's the coaching. MLS adopts a 2 foreign player per team rule next year, we still struggle in the 2060 world cup. You're counting on the million monkeys producing shakespeare fallacy.

Watch our top youth league clips on Youtube for any of their national/feature tourneys. It's barely above the "Crap 90s Footy" feed. By 2060 we'll probably be all wrapped up in the Gegenpressing trend...while they'll be playing with some wild Neuer/Busquets hybrids to start the attack oout of a 3-8 formation in the UCL...

Elsewhere in the world, sure. Here, where our youth clubs don't have senior men's teams to fill, no...

That's where the money is? With no adult team to be part of a league and get media revenue, play the kids when they get old eough and pay them as professionals, or other adult teams to buy the kids who might be too good for your level or fit a specific need, how are the youth clubs supposed to generate money?

You can only sell so many hoagies and do so many car-washes.

and the dreams are being sold mostly to the parents - they sign the checks. The dream is "do this if you want your kid to have a chance at a college scholarship"

To borrow from a wise man on Twitter before it went down the tubes - US Soccer is working exactly as designed.

Who going to pay for youth soccer?
MLS doesn't have the reach( DC, if they could, would not have any youth academy.) Pro/Rel would not help youth soccer too much. I highly doubt that a 3rd- or 4th-level team would have a fully run youth academy.
USSF doesn't have that type of money

Because other countries' soccer ecosystems are far more developed than, say, their basketball systems, you mook.

JFC, you're just an idiot or trolling.

    Of course you do.

It's stunning you don't work to change the system, you just opine. With such strength of your convictions that you express them from behind the veil of anonymity provided by a username.

to get better doesnt' require money.
    who pays for it?
when you see kids playing basketball at the park who is paying for it?
when they play volleyball or wiffle ball, who pays for it? when they play catch or ride their skateboard, etc.

    space exists.

kids need to use the space and do pickup games. adults can help facilitate it but no need for referees or coaches. to get touches and learn skills.

leagues and clubs will cost money true. but that should only be half the equation.

Cities pay for that. Good luck getting cities to pay.
Let's also be honest, how many kids are going outside to play pickup basketball, baseball, or American football? Pickup sports are dying

    Taxpayers, Parents, etc.

Who pays for the skateboards??? The basketballs, footballs, baseball bats and gloves, the insurance for the parks/facilities???

my point is that the space is already there.

it is used for various activities. if the US is good at anything is making parks. how many parks are in your town?

The broadcast deals for the NBA and especially March Madness over the past 40 years are what paid for kids playing pickup basketball. It is in the culture now. Possibly even before that, but I'm not sure my uncles who were teens in the 60s were pretending to be Bob Cousy and George Mikan the way my friends and I in th late 70s/80s were pretending to be Dr J and Larry Bird between pretending to be the 70s steelers/dan marino or the 70s pirates/yankees.

Get soccer on free OTA broadcast windows where kids see it and go out and want to do it on their own instead of it being an activity that the parents signed them up for.

Wiffle ball is an extension of baseball, again, national past time for nearly 100 years, generational knowledge passed down through families. How many soccer parents out there are passing down the same to their kids, so that the kids know how to 3v3 to jacke/bottle/trash/basketball post goals.

I watched the APSL in 1993. They had some talented foreigners like Taifour Diane but it was mostly Americans. Not enough people watched now.

Yeah, I've been on this site a quarter century. Plus I used to follow Kenn on Facebook years ago, back when I still had an account.

You've had a lot of people call you out on some of your myopic takes, and he just seems to be the one who got under your skin.

I did edit one personal insult.

You're kinda all over the place in this thread, and he's not the only one pointing that out.
