Militao for one who has been really poor this season.

Carvjal injury killed a decent but shaky defense. Vasquez’ side gets absolutely murdered every game. It also creates imbalances and a domino effect…. Rodrigo can’t play because we need the extra CM to help Vasquez defensively. Jude or Valverde are forced to play much lower to cover Vasquez’ side. So in essence, you have to sacrifice the offensive side of one of those CMs to compensate.

Problem is that, without Rodrygo, you need more participation into attacking play from CMs and fullbacks. Mendy brings nothing to the attacking play. Vasquez is ok…. But his offensive input is far less that his defensive deficiencies.

So the Carvajal injury forced Carlo out of a 433 to a 442. We have a big problem at right back so the team is sacrificing a CM to compensate. Militao and Rudiger are not good enough to handle a leaky right side. We struggled to create for our forwards before the Carvajal issue… so we’ve actually become less creative and more vulnerable defensively.

Forget Mbappe and the forwards. We need to fix right back issue first and foremost. After that, midfield creativity. Vini and Mbappe will get themselves right sooner or later. That’s least concerning of our issues imo.

Yeah, the defense is a priority. The team aint winning anything with that defense. The attack with that amount of talent has a higher chance of sorting itself out.

I wanna see Lucas benched in favour for Militao and Tchou(when he recovers) dropped to CB and Cama as a DM with Fede as box to box with Jude behind Vini amd Mbappe. Mbappe is the 1st sub out when playing crap in favour of Rodrygo since he can’t be benched.

Typically, you want an aggressive CB paired with a calm/positional one. We have two aggressive CBs. It worked with Pepe/Ramos after many many years of chaos... I really don't want to go through that again lol. The current ones aren't nearly as talented either.

I'm not a fan of Militao Rudiger partnership, I don't think it works.

Florentino gambled and it blew up in the worst possible way.

He gambled last year when everyone was begging him to buy a starting striker and we won the CL and La Liga.

The irony is that the gamble most people wanted him to do was Yoro and he ended up injured anyways... that would be another failed one no?

He wanted to sign Yoro for 30m(adds on included) and offered him a salary of €2.5m per season unlike Man Utd that signed him for €62m(with €8 in adds on) and gave him a salary worth €9.5m per season.
Man Utd knew he had metatarsal problem before signing him, as the issue was picked up during his medical. the problem is that they let him play instead of taking care of it.

Last year, we won because Bellingham performed exceptionally well, and Vini Jr. was on fire. Their outstanding performances masked our shortcomings, but we did face struggles during the matches. It wasn't that we excelled from beginning to end; we just managed to prevail.

We performed well overall, but we lacked reinforcement in defense, which was our most pressing need. Instead of addressing this shortcoming from last season, our management decided to sign a striker who was not necessary at all.

Club management is failing to address our defensive needs, and even Carlos has been urging them to sign a center-back. However, management keeps using the standard excuse that there are no players available in the market. It’s not as if these players are difficult to find; the club needs to actively seek out alternatives and sign the most suitable player, rather than simply claiming that no players are available.

The issues are balance, we do need a FB urgently but even so it's really the balance, you can't win with 3 or 4 people checking for Instagram impressions

Are you implying that we are currently good at protecting our players from injuries?

As evidenced by your posts, you are overly emotional about this topic - so much so it clouds your judgment.
I am very familiar with French sports media unlike other posters on the board. Riolo talks 99% crap and is a hateful dude overall.
Deschamps is sinking the team - everybody can see that. Beating this belgium and Israel is not an achievement and you should be ashamed of bringing it up as evidence to the contrary.
I don't even like Mbappe btw. But he had a publicly announced hanstring tear and he likely played injured, so they were managing his minutes. Deschamps isn't punishing Mbappe when he bent over backward backstabbing Griezmann and offering him the captaincy

We did have a striker. Joselu.

He's the reason we won the CL.

    Mbappe is not a striker.

Holy sh!t man, are you categorizing the club's decision not to buy a CB as a strategic win because Yoro got injured?

Also, life doesn't work like that, if Yoro had joined RM, a different set of consequential events would have taken place, he wouldn't necessarily be injured right now. But in either case, the club would not have been guilty of rash complacency as they are now, we made ZERO attempts to bolster our defense even though it was clear that Alaba's injury was bad, Militao's post-injury form is not guaranteed, Vasquez is a liability and Vallejo is barely Segunda level.

Bro, the club f*cked up. End of. This shouldn't even be debate at this point.

I don't know how you understood this. But we are not dumb enough to let a injured player to play.

    We’re not?

If Bellingham was a horse we’d have shot him by now.

So you would also shoot Benzema for the injury he had in his finger?

We have to. Doesn't need to be the best attacking fullback in the planet either... need someone who knows how to defend.

His medical flagged a "potential issue" with his metatarsal -- it's disingenuous to say he was already "injured" at the time he was playing. Further, he was injured in a noncompetitive match. Reportedly they did not plan to start him every week when the league started. Which is yet another reason he would likely not have been a helpful signing.
