Hope Jude or Valverde win the next Balon d'Or from our team. Mbappe has barely got warm and he's still thinking about personal glories

It was on a L’Équipe panel. L’Equipe du Soir show. I’ll see if there’s a YouTube on it. I watched it live on their website.

I mean there has to be apart of him that is thinking about his legacy at this point. 26 in December and all he has to show is a World Cup as a teenager and a boatload of money.

No BdOs, no league titles that matter, no Champions Leagues.

You'd think he'd come super hungry to write the next half of his career.

I still think its very early on in the season to complain but damn he has got to step it up soon.

Note: I am not proud for this writeup. I started thinking it’ll be a 5 min job and 2 hours later here we are lol.

    Timeline of the “Mbappegate”:

24th September: Real Madrid vs Deportivo Alaves, In the 80th minute Mbappe comes off after picking up a knock.

1st October: The French forward, who suffered a thigh injury during Real's 3-2 victory over Alaves in La Liga, was initially expected to miss up to three weeks of action. However, in an encouraging turn of events, Mbappe has been included in the squad for the upcoming midweek European clash after making a rapid recovery.

“Mbappe has recovered well, very quickly,” Ancelotti told reporters. “Only yesterday he trained individually. He didn’t stop for long and he hasn’t lost his condition. Today (Tuesday) he will train the whole training session. We will make the most appropriate decision today, bearing in mind that we are not going to take any risks.

“He has had an overload. They’re talking about a grade 1 hamstring injury. In the old days, it was an overload. With the new technology, he’s fine. He’s here to play. We’re not going to take any risks. Obviously, if there is no risk, he will play from the first minute.

Grade 1 hamstring injury takes 3 days to heal with the RICE method. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation. Source = https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/17039-hamstring-injury

2nd October: Real Madrid vs LOSC Lille, Mbappe comes on in the 57th minute and plays 40 minutes with no visible physical issues.

3rd October: Deschamps says he’s leaving Mbappe out of the squad for the international clash with Israel. "I spoke with Kylian about the situation, which is still uncertain after coming on as a substitute on Wednesday. He has a problem which is not serious but he needs treatment to recover properly. I am not here to take risks. That is why Kylian is not here.”

Deschamps did add that “Kylian draws a lot of attention. Club and national team interests don’t always align, and it’s important to remember that it’s the club, not the federation, that employs him.” He’s basically hinting that he doesn’t see why he couldn’t play for the NT.

    October 7th: nothing

    October 8th: nothing

October 9th: Mbappé flies to Stockholm and he and his friends spend Wednesday evening in a night club.

October 10th: Mbappé and his friends go for a dinner in Chez Jolie, after that they spent the evening in a night club in Stockholm.

France vs Israel game is on during all this. Mbappe makes a social media post saying “I’m with you”, while not even watching the game :ROFLMAO:

On this day, two articles come out that say Mbappe is in Valdebebas working really hard to improve his conditioning after his injury that he sustained on September 24th vs Alaves has now healed. They even go on to say he’s undergoing a “mini pre-season” with Pintus, because he feels like he owes it to Real Madrid fans. “It has been Mbappé himself, who somehow feels indebted to his new club, who has decided to stay in Madrid during international break to work on his physique with Antonio Pintus”... “This week his three training sessions (Monday through Wednesday) have passed without leaving the Valdebebas' gym”. The AS article even gives us the schedule of Mbappe’s mini pre-season. Weights and strength training during the week, and drills with the ball over the weekend and after. This information gets blown up on social media, gets tons of interactions etc.

Pedro Castillo of Diario AS, and Santiago Siguero of Marca wrote these articles. The question is who gave them this information, and why was this published on the 10th.

October 11th: The Mbappegate happens. News leak that Mbappe has been partying in Stockholm and not working in Valdebebas with Pintus as initially reported.

France is in complete outrage mode. People are calling for his captaincy to be revoked.

Mbappé left Sweden on Friday October 11th for Ajaccio (Corsica). He landed at around 4:50pm local time. He then dined in Auberge du Prunelli at 8.30pm. (sneaking in), and left the establishment after it was emptied later – most likely close to 12.00 am as that’s when the restaurant closes.

October 12th: Swedish website Expressen.se gives us the breakdown of Mbappe’s Stockholm stay.

    Source (paywalled) = https://www.expressen.se/sport/fotboll/har-dyker-kylian-mbappe-upp--hemliga-dagarna-i-stockholm/

According to Swedish outlet Expressen, Kylian Mbappé (25) planned to keep his trip to Stockholm a secret. The France captain has come under increased scrutiny for a trip to the capital of Sweden, where he visited a nightclub, whilst Les Bleus were in action during the international break.

The Real Madrid forward forbode the usage of mobile phones whilst he, his former PSG teammate Nordi Mukiele and others visited the Stockholm nightclub “V” during his three-day visit to the Nordic country. However, despite Mbappé’s best efforts to keep his trip a secret, he was pictured wearing a mask leaving the nightclub. He has now left Sweden for Corsica.

    ■ Mbappé and his friends spent the evenings of Wednesday and Thursday in a nightclub.

    ■ Mbappé wanted his visit to take place in the greatest secrecy and had taken precautions to ensure this.

    ■ Mobile phones were banned when Mbappé was at the nightclub.

    ■ Mbappé stayed in Sweden for three days, from Tuesday October 8 to Friday October 11.

    ■ Mbappé left the country on Friday October 11th for Ajaccio (Corsica).

    - Mbappe makes an Instagram post showing him flexing his bicep in a private gym (presumably somewhere in Corsica). This an obvious signal to fans that he’s indeed working on his fitness.

    - News start circulating that Mbappe was in Stockholm for some rare treatment for his already healed injury. I can’t find the link to this story so I’m just quoting Lecannois here.

This is odd, because we already covered that grade 1 hamstring injury doesn’t take any special treatment. RICE method for 3 days and you’re good. Platelet-rich plasma & bone marrow aspirate are legit treatments for hamstring pain though, so he definitely could have gone there for the treatment. The thing is BMAC treatment takes 2-6 weeks for patients to “experience an increase in stability and strength alongside a decrease in pain.” When it comes to PRP treatment, on the other hand, “Treatment is administered via an injection and depending on the injury two to six injections may be required, performed at weekly intervals. Patients usually see their symptoms improve within four to six weeks of having the injections.”

    Source = https://www.theregenerativeclinic.co.uk/body-areas/knee/hamstring-tendinopathy/

Why would Mbappe undergo treatment that is used for more serious injuries and takes weeks to do its job, while his grade 1 hamstring injury would naturally heal in 3 days? I am not a doctor, obviously, but it does seem like something doesn’t add up. Also, you’re supposed to rest after these treatments a few days, while Mbappe was posting his selfies from the gym this morning.

    - Social media channels share posts saying Mbappe is looking to win the Ballon D’Or in 2025 and that’s why he’s not going to be playing “unimportant” games for France – only the important ones, so as to “avoid the risk of injury”. Maybe this was to signal that he’s indeed serious about football, but this doesn’t sit well with French fans because he is the team captain of the French NT.

1845095576746197118 is not a valid tweet id

    - If Mbappe got permission from the club to go and take some time off, which to be fair he deserves, and he chose to spend that time with his friends in Stockholm partying, I have no problems with that.

As a Real Madrid fan, the only point of contention is the inaccurate reporting and conflicting social media posts that made it seem like he is currently locked in with Pintus in Valdebebas, working his ass off to “pay us back for believing in him”. Why release these articles? Maybe these two journalists are fed inaccurate information by someone?

It’s entirely different for French fans who see this as a complete betrayal by a player who’s supposed to be their captain.

My takeaway is that, as expected, Mbappe has a very strong PR machine. Most likely Fayza plays a big role in it. And he doesn’t really care if the PR moves seem credible, as long as some sort of excuse is offered. To be fair it seems like it’s working. I've seen RM fans start to call anyone who’s calling Mbappe out for this Stockholm “debacle” a Barca fan :D This whole saga has been kind of wild, with seeing how he’s playing the social media game and the type of posts he puts up and at which times. Which articles are coming out and at which times. Seems to me like he’s a sly little weasel indeed, and that he puts a lot of thought into how he comes across in the media.

As closure to this, just want to add that whatever Mbappe did I hope it helps him with his game and that he comes back firing on all cylinders. Even if he just needed some rest and partying with his friends. But it seems likely we’re going to have another French striker who’s a persona non grata in their own country :ROFLMAO:

Anyway, I need to go to the gym now and flush my system of this whole thing.

I agree. i don't understand people that complain about Kylian not playing in in the intentional break with France when they are not even France fans.
as a Real Madrid fan i'm happy he do this, in this way he can avoid injures.

we can’t be this bored in the international break to care that he’s in Stockholm. These are childish concerns. He has a break, let him do as he pleases

The consequences are knee problems, hamstring strain, etc. Mbappe's underlying issue has been a bad back since last March as a FYI. That's the root problem and why he was supposed to avoid airplane travel (lol).

France is on an environmental kick too. So the FFF has the France team fly commercial or even take the train when playing domestically. Trying to reduce the "carbon footprint". Idiots.

:ROFLMAO: I know. It wasn't supposed to be this long. I just wanted to summarize what's been said.

From a perspective of a Real Madrid fan, again, no big deal. In fact, if he's taking some time to rest up it can only mean good things for us once he's back. Also, this wouldn't happen without the club's blessing. He was obviously given some time off.

But the undertone that's interesting to me personally is how he's dealing with his public image and the media narratives. I can absolutely see why French fans would be furious, and he obviously knew that would happen too - that's why he wanted to keep everything a secret.

First few interviews after he's back could be fun.

Bro wants the Ballon d'Or while a good portion of his Real Madrid goals were pens earned by Vini, Rodrygo and Arda. Dude better step up. Something tells me he gave his best years to PSG and now he's coming to Madrid for the easy trophies.

Partying aint a crime as much as not speaking spanish and playing golf. Still, more goals in 2 months than Flopzard's entire Madrid tenure. Bro should have just been transparent instead of blowing hot air to appease the fanboys.

You suffering frolm that Mbappe Stockholm Syndrome, where after abusing your trust for years you now feel sympathy instead of antipathy for him being caught and exposed.

Because people have been gaslighting anyone who questioned the Mbappe transfer and now many of the concerns are coming to fuition and the man behind the mask is being revealed.

Maybe we haven't reached the I told you so momment and maybe people don't want to get to that moment so the true fans are remaining vigilient in the hopes of salvaging something and preventing what looks like it could be a trainwreck on the horizon

We are told not to worry about his slow start because it's likely only "temporary" while "adjusts to his new environment" but some of this stuff has been apparent for more than a year since he was looking plum comfortable in Paris.

We are told he takes care of himself and doesn't go out partying, then he release fraudulent social media posts and the media releases stories about him using the internation break to "work out" and get "back in shape" when in reality he was upgrading way beyond the Swedish massage that would have been a convenient but believable excuse to use if he knew how to be honest.

Brother I’ve always been easy on our players. I think Hazard was the only player I was ever harsh on and it took a while.

Mbappe skipped on his responsibilities with the French team to do part training part vacationing

big deal. None of it affects Madrid

Sheesh, the way people have their pitchforks out you would think Mbappe murdered their whole family. I know some people couldn't wait to take their shots at him after the prolonged saga of blueballing Madridistas (myself included). But cut the guy a break. This affects the France Natl team which I give zero fncks about. This doesn't affect Real Madrid. Once it does, I'll join the mob.

But some of yall are going after him like he did the worst thing that he could have to let fans down. I guess the paparazzi got you the bait you needed. This is a club where Legends have been accused of doing worse and they are almost universally still beloved.

For example, Cristiano went to nightclubs, supposedly even assaulted a woman (which he made go away with money). He regularly seemed egotistical and selfish. He even snubbed teammates birthdays, dodged awards ceremonies that celebrated others and taxes.

Benzema joined Ribery to hire an underage "escort". He was also accused of stupidly helping a friend blackmail his teammate. He told Mendy not to pass to Vini Jr by swearing on his mother's life (only assholes do that shit).

Let's not pretend we hold our players to the highest standards off the pitch when there is clear evidence of disparity in treatment for players.

Even delivering routinely in the biggest moments doesn't get you off the hook. Bale was accused of not learning enough spanish, playing too much golf and holding a dumb flag that one of his jackass Welsh teammates got from a fan. Yet he got more vitriol than the aforementioned players, even though he stayed out of the limelight and was accused [the nerve!] of going to sleep on time.

So spare us your sanctimonious ramble. This stuff seems more personal than just the guy skipping out on rehab or playing for his national team.

The problem is in him trying to create a fake narrative of what he is doing in his spare time - is clear what kind of a manipulative cnt he is. Add to that him being a money whore, duped us for multiple years ,have been struggling to get into form for 2 months - makes him an easy target to vent frustration

I get that part. But I think this reaction is really disproportionate. Bro had 7 goals for Madrid and isn't seemingly half assing it on the pitch for Madrid. It's not like he's pulling a Burger king.

Damn. Mbappé's 26 in a few weeks. Time flies doing nothing. It's the make or break part of his career.

Do you guys see Vini staying long in Madrid with Mbappé? Some part of me seeing things falling apart and it becoming a him or him situation.

Vini is wonderful but let's be honest, he can't stay the same after his first Balon.
