Hard to see how he’s going to hit 30-40 goals this season tbh
On this form, he’s lucky to get 20 tbh

We're going to play a truckload of games. A double here and there and 30 is very realistic.

Good for us is the only thing that matters is the team winning.

    1. I didn’t claim the pens don’t count, just that there is an asterisk to be placed when someone argues he is our most prolific player. It would’ve been a different story if he was lighting it up as we expected/hoped he would. As of now, that is not the case and him being the leading scorer is related to Vini having no ego.

    2. I don’t get why the Ronaldo/penalty argument is being brought up for a second time now. No one claimed Mbappe is only good for pens (not in this thread at least). And fans aren’t a monolith. I don’t get why these statements are made like the same person argued the exact opposite in regards to some other stuff. Unless you can quote the same person doing a 180, why be dishonest and act like it’s a ‘gotcha’?

It doesn't really change the facts, top scorer.

He'll score 35+ this season. I'm guaranteeing it. Once he gets going, he's a 1 goal per game ratio player. We have another 50 games left all competitions approximately.

Here is hoping (+it leading to titles). Trusting the Pintus magic to get him up to speed.

Better to be with Pintus than with the donkey Dechamps in a useless international match.

Well it's good to know that Mbappe can fix problem for his slow start to the season in one week of training with Pintus (and of course some working with the ball over the weekend).

But what if that plan doesn't work. I mean if rust has already settled in on a player that wasn't being challanged for the last few years and gradually went from being an easily inluenced and trainable teenager to an experience professional set in his ways... then we may well have another Hazard on hour hands.

Maybe he doesn't like fast food or fast women, but neither has a monopoly on complacency.

Deschamps is a fantastic manager just like Tuchel and Mourinho. There’s no question about it. His teams are just atrocious to watch play like the other 2.

He’s won everywhere he’s managed, including Juventus, Monaco and Marseille. There isn’t a single place where he hasn’t achieved results.

I say this while I absolutely hate how France plays lol. But I am not convinced that anyone else would do better from a results standpoint. In fact, I doubt it.

To put it in perspective, France somehow made it to the Euro semi final with the hardest path possible…. With the ghost of Mbappe, “can’t hit hit the side of a barn with my shots” Dembele, and Marcus Thuram. Upamecano had an atrocious season at Bayern. And, due to injuries, Kante Saudi version was forced to start.

The France team when healthy was a favorite. But the actual France team that was playing got the best result it could imo.

Nobody was fit in that euro, half the squads were injured or ran ragged.

What? Would you not be calling your work colleague who you've worked with for roughly 2 months a "spectacular person" ?:ROFLMAO:

Santi Siguero tends to make favourable articles to our players and coaches. Interesting to see.

It just doesn't look good on him. I disliked the vacation trip after a league game with Vini and Bellingham too. I can say hey, performances haven't been too bad but need some work but this stinks.

There's a responsibility you carry when you play for the club.

Granero was on radio marca when that happened and he said it might be unfair, but a Real Madrid player doesn't stop being a Real Madrid player when he leaves the field. You are a Madrid player at the restaurant, at the store, on the street. There's a load of responsibility you carry.

Yeah, if he was lighting it up, nobody would care. But now it’s an easy target: “See he isn’t focused!” or whatever.

Like players are supposed to stay at home at all times or something. As long as their private life isn’t negatively impacting their game: big meh.

Confirmed by RMC. Very very bad look. This is what got him in trouble last season and his performances dropped like a rock. You started getting media reports that he was partying really hard and we saw how his game started falling apart.

This is what I was afraid of. His mind hasn't been focused on football since the summer of 2023 and i was hoping it was just a PSG drama thing. If the behavior continues at Real Madrid, he will flop... no question about it.

His image in France is in the gutter so there's nothing to talk about there. I would not be surprised that, if France beat Belgium this coming week, Mbappe gets left off of the next France call-up up too. He's making Deschamps look bad (who has defended him) and that's not going to work as history has shown.

Also, what a dumb move generally even if he does get back up to speed. He's making people feel like fools.

It's to do with the reporting from two different journals (Marca and AS), both stating Mbappe is in Valdebebas working extra hard during this international break "because he knows he owes us better". They even go as far to specifically say which workout regimen he is having. Weights during this week, and with the ball over the weekend. Who is giving these people this insider information, and how is then Mbappe half way across the world in Stockholm partying instead?

Carlos Forjanes (AS) and Santiago Siguero (Marca) both write these articles at the same time while Mbappe is hiding his face in Stockholm.

As a Real Madrid fan I would not care at all if he was in Stockholm while injured. But his PR machine said he's working hard atm cause he feels like he owes us :ROFLMAO:

If I was French I'd be fking fuming tho, lmao.

More than that... he asked Deschamps to leave him off the France team due to injury. Deschamps left him off and defended Mbappe all week. Since then, he played a full game and now he's jetsetting parties? That is outrageous behavior.

You can do what you want... no problem. But do not lie. Making people look like fools.

I am anjoying all this, just because this is my first real exposure to Mbappe. I haven't followed him at all while he was in PSG. I obviously see flashes of a brilliant player in him, and I still think he will turn out great for us, but the PR nonsense is what I want to sniff out as soon as possible. I want to know who his PR people/journos in Spain are and who is full of sht. The threadball is untangling slowly.

Well, whatever the PR team is feeding the journalists is fine... until the journalists are made to look foolish (like this week). Then they will turn on him. That's what happened in France. He was the golden boy mediatically until he started making the journalists look like fools. Riolo and Rothern are prime examples. Now, he's absolutely roasted by almost everyone, including the two mentioned.

Media is one thing... making Deschamps look like a fool is another.

None of this would matter if he was performing like himself. He's playing like the ghost of Mbappe for 9 months now.

Long term... the players that have poor lifestyles don't last very long. See Ronaldinho, Neymar, Verratti, etc. It catches up to you really quickly.

True. It was a very poor tournament from a quality standpoint imo.
