Interesting, but I doubt anyone is surprised. I would have guessed you would get figures like this if their defensive efforts were quantified. This is what my eyes are telling me is happening and now it's basically confirmed.
? Not sure what you mean. He's the CF. He's not supposed to pass if he sees an opportunity for himself. Don't let Benzema fool you... he was the exception as opposed to the norm. Every CF is looking to score because that's the job. Put him on a wing and he'll pass. In 2021-2022, when he played the wing for the entire season, Mbappe had 26 assists including 6 in 8 games in CL. He's more than capable of doing it.
Anyhow, even more details coming out via French pundits (not the hacky ones on TV)... Mbappe needs time to work on his athleticism. He asked Deschamps to excuse him so that he could focus on working on getting his athleticism back besides recovering from the small injury. International breaks with France are mostly PR and 2 games... very little training. Given where he is physically, Mbappe and Deschamps agreed that Mbappe and France would be better served if he worked on himself as opposed to play 2 meaningless games besides the travel. The big thing that Deschamps brought up is the number of games that players are asked to play in a season now. He said that both the clubs and national selections, who have the capacity, need to help players manage themselves physically. My only issue is that he shouldn't be captain then. Because it's all about "me" and that doesn't represent that role well. Otherwise, fine.
@4x4s trying to force Hazard in every discussion related to Mbappe to shield him from shit performance so far
I'm not trying to force anything. I'm just not willing to give you a pass for three years of training footage and anti coach rhetoric in favor of somebody who eventually said he quit the day he joined the team. Like your little Belgian Godiva, you will have to carry that extra load.
I have to say he has a point though. Hazard was given too much leeway after that freak injury. The effort was none-existent. He was always a good lad though. No hard feelings. Mbappe, on the other hand, is clearly trying. Frustrated not to score. That is a positive sign. At least give him the full debut season.
I think Mbappe is trying too hard to melt into the dressing room and adapt to others. Real Madrid didn't get him to act like a beta player, which he can't btw. He needs to act like an alpha. Take over games and not worry if it hurts anyone's feelings. Demand the ball and don't hesitate. He's overcompensating. Being an asshole at times is needed lol. The past 6 months have clearly done a number on him psychologically. Leave it to the French to beat down a good thing. I live in the US now and whenever I go to France again, I'm always amazed at how much people like to complain and put others down (generalizing of course, but it is a common trait). There's jealousy for those who are successful.
So what Mbappe's just a total garbage bin for a heart because he toyed with the club for years and when he finally came he looked dull and ordinary and is currently (ahem sound familiar ahem) trying to blame niggling injuries for being lazy and not tracking back and losing fitness and speed. Wow. Fed practicing interviews to prepare for being the Captain. I think if you read between the lines he's clearly trying to say there may be issues with Mbappe in the dressing room, I mean who calls another person a "spectacular person" unless you're just trying pacify someone's ego.
On the other hand who spends thousands of words every day writing the nonsense you do? Think about that.
Again, I'm actually trying to contribute opinions and some of the things that are said in French media. If nobody posts their opinion or information, there's nothing to talk about on a message board. People are free to like, hate, or feel neutral. But at least, you have some people react at the end of the day. It's message board 101 man. Stream of consciousness. I'm not calculating what I say because that's not the point.
His team already doing the PR tour? That was quick. Let’s hope he can turn things around. As things stand, he is pretty useless.
Whatever he does you guys damn him. He is trying desperately to find form instead of chilling, eating or partying and you still find an issue
Ah well nevermind then lol. But to be clear, whatever nonsense goes through my mind... I'm writing it. So everyone please don't take me seriously, especially when i lose my temper.
He is leading the team in scoring just to be clear. He needs to get going to catch Lewandowski though... he's on fire. But with his age, I'm sure Lewa will slow down. Tends to disappear in important games too.
I've previously said he form matches that of the team and I also feel people need to give him some time till at least the team's form picks up. With that said, people shouldn't be mentioning that he's our top scorer as some kind of defence. He's supposed to be, and even that, 3 of his 5 goals are penalties.
What issue? I’m not doubting his professionalism and glad he seems to take it seriously. Just saying; those types of reports feels a bit like PR to control the narrative. Ehh that’s a bit dishonest. A bunch of pens in there. I think he had like 2 goals that showed what he can do and what we need more of. The ones against Betis and Alaves I think. But more than all that: I really want to see him being a menace to play against. Was kinda hoping that being the dynamic element we would be adding to the team. So opponents would suffer having to deal with Vini and him. But so far it’s been still mostly Vini going at it whilst Mbappe is not there (yet).
We count pk goals for players we like and don’t count them for players we don’t Things don’t change lol
