He can do better. His efficiency (shots to goals) is horrible compared to his career average. Less than half. A couple of reasons:

    - In his younger days, he very rarely took shots outside the box. He liked to link up and make a run in the box. Maybe that happens with Jude. But at Madrid, linkup isn't there so he's just shooting.

    - Confidence is low. You can tell he's really concentrating on his technique rather than just letting it go calmly per usual. That makes him shoot slower = gives an extra half step to defenders and keepers = getting blocked/saved a lot.

It will change. He's trying too hard.

Or bet on the guy who has scored 4 goals in 2 world cup finals. To me, you bet on both.

Can't be seroius with this. Last season we were playing with Vini and Rodrygo as CF's, Vini's adaptation to a central role in particular was a stroke of genius by Ancelloti.

Anyway now we see that Mbappe's presence is stifling both Vinicius Jr. and Mbappe, both of whom thrived last season and scored for fun with license to attack straight up the middle in a different system and lineup from what's in place now.

There are at least a few of them on here, they take any opportunity to take a dig at Vinicius and yet they never learn. He's no mercenary or sell out neither is he a squeeky clean pretty boy afraid of responsibility who lacks the integrity to put in a shift when need be.

Doesn't even matter. Even if we did as he asked, soon as Endrick had one bad game, he'd be calling for him to be thrown to the sharks.

This place could do with a tidy up and just move the clear trolls on

I have a better plan, sell both of them and buy Osimhen and Doku.

Just drifting... really no idea what he's doing in this game at least. No CF runs. Just in no man's land.

I agree this excuse about him playing CF should not drop he's level so bad.

Yamal is like 10 levels above him right now. He's form and general play has been on big decline for a long time now. i think he has peaked as a player.

Yes it should. It's not an excuse. He's playing completely out of position. Put Yamal at CF and see what happens... or Haaland on a wing.

You spend your whole life honing your skills to play the wings, which rely on speed, and play facing goal with space, just to play a completely different one... it doesn't work. It isn't FIFA.

It's not like he hasn't played CF or that's the reason for the issues we are seeing. He's playing CF for PSG and scored over 20 goals if I'm not mistaken. The issue I'm seeing now is he finishing not being clinical, bad touches and poor decision making. That's nothing to do with him "playing out of position".

I said it somewhere in this thread I think he overall impact will be quite mute as he's no longer the big fish in a small pond. Add to the fact the entire team is struggling a bit.

Early in the first half he was fed an open shot at the top of the box and blasted it straight at the GK, a few minutes later he had the ball with his back to goal, ball popped up on him and he tried to turn and shoot but was so far off he hit the corner flag.

These aren't problems from him playing as a CF, it's just bad form or his "true" form getting found out in a more competitive league.

He was atrocious at CF at PSG. I keep saying it. All PSG fans say it (see "immigre parisien" on youtube who is a huge PSG fan). Similar to Madrid, he would mainly score from penalties or by snatching a goal here and there.

It's not even a secret he's terrible as a 9. Not sure why anyone is surprised. He's played many games there now and, with the exception of a handful of games... looked atrocious.

Maybe he learns it. I doubt it. His skills are 80% the antithesis of the skillset of a CF. But you never know.

Maybe he's just terrible all round and Ligue 1 just made him look good.

Oh and the competitive league argument is nonsense. Otherwise, his CL and world cup stats wouldn't be what they are.

He maybe played 25 games over 7 years as CF for PSG to be clear... at most. And that happened last year to finish the season as Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos flopped at the CF position.

I guess maybe you're right. He's a one dimensional player. What a shame, we know he isn't displacing Vinicius. I guess we can sell him for a profit next season.

You want to wager? I strongly believe this is Vini's last season at Real Madrid. Nothing to do with football... his continued criticism of Spain as a country just can't work for Real Madrid.

I think he takes a mega contract in the Saudi League.

    Wow....

Do you also believe Haland is on his way next season? Or will Endrick play the 9 that Mbappe can't handle?

Would be perhaps the greatest deal Florentino Perez ever made if he were to pickup Mbappe on a free transfer, screw PSG out of every dime they could've have earned and then turn around and sell him for a record transfer fee the following summer.

It really is the ideal scenario.

Haaland is a dream. Could very well happen. I think this is Pep's last year at City (end of contract that he hasn't renewed) which would open the door.

Endrick is too young for that kind of pressure. Let him get 2-3 years of cup games and super sub appearances... and then give him a chance (assuming Haapand isn't here).

Crazy thing is that Mbappe could get 35 goals this season playing like this lol. It looks so underwhelming in terms of style compared to his entire career other than the last 3 months at PSG and then this...

I haven't seen much improvement in him as player for 3 or 4 years now.

I think Mbappe from what I see quite lost his incredible speed. He seem a bit lack of confidence in this new role for him as a CF. I think it will take time for him and the team to play better. He just need to be more clinical
