Well I think we can be assured Trent Alexander is running his contract down so he can make his move to Madrid next summer.

He's a homegrown Liverpool player so there will be a lot of emotional blackmailing if he attempts to leave for free. Mcmanaman had to deal with the same as per Wiki.
Lol they see him in 3D with both feet out, eyes staring right at Madrid. My man seems to be painfully counting down the weeks and days. He is making it too obvious lol
🗣️ Brahim: “Our locker room is incredible, we’re not teammates but a family. Kylian will adapt quick because we talk and joke all day. We speak a lot to new guys to know them inside out. We will welcome Kylian and Endrick with open arms.” pic.twitter.com/8CTP8TJDd2— Madrid Zone (@theMadridZone) July 26, 2024
Trent on the right and Mendy on the left would provide some good attack/defense balance (or maybe contrast ), especially given the explosive nature of our left forwards in comparison to our right wing options.
Trent cannot defend but neither could Marcelo. The right sided attack will be as dangerous as the left
Marcelo was a better defender than Trent. The guy is shamefully unaware on the defensive end. So much so that managers thought of changing his position entirely. That level of performance won't be ignored if he plays in the Bernabeu.
Yeah he can be pretty shocking defensively as a RB. I watched a decent amount of Liverpool games early last season and he was being deployed a lot as a defensive mid.
Against the better teams, as it was then, this will be a problem, and Marcelo was better in all departments, Trent is no Marcelo with or without the ball, not even close Maybe but some fans here don't seem to like players "running and working" for others, even though it's a team game and the player being helped is positive for the team on a whole, case in point, Toni,
I would rather not have TAA. He’s a complete liability on defense. I’d rather we look at Frimprong or a Castilla player.
So the plan is to play two attacking minded fullbacks: Davies, Arnold + a 33 year-old Rudiger come Sept 2025. Yeah ok.
Carlo had Marcelo yet started Coentrao against Robben in both legs. It was ZZ who fully trusted Marcelo in big games. Even if we sign Davies next summer, Mendy could start big CL games for a year or two under Carlo. Or if Xabi takes over, his main system is 3 at the back which is perfect for Davies and Trent in 3-5-2.
Maybe the club will be looking for a defensive minded RB to alternate with TAA. Afterall, once Dani is gone, so would Lucas most probably.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/story/_/id/40670195/kylian-mbappe-misses-real-madrid-preseason-tour-us Mbappe confirmed not to be joining US tour. First game with Madrid will be the Uefa supercup against Atalanta. Bellingham and Carvajal also on vacation since they played Euro finals. Vini jr and Rodrygo also joining late and didnt travel with the team. 12 castilla/youth players travelled with team. Endrick also travelled. I'm sure Barca will go guns blazing in el clasico friendly to get a false sense of superiority. I would caution against getting too worked up about these friendlies.
I feel like we (Barca, Madrid, La Liga) are cheapening and triviliazing the experience by having those. That game should be special. It's like the NFL having the Superbowl matchup played elsewhere as a way to promote the game. Those tours should present the teams that go there in the best light possible, not serve a fastfood version of it's best on the menu.

I couldn't agree more. I was very tempted to go to the Real Madrid game played in Orlando last summer for a chance to go see my favorite team. For many of us it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. Particularly for those of us who don't live in Europe and can't afford to take a trip for whatever reason. In the end I didn't go, and it seems I didn't miss much. Real Madrid got thrashed by Juventus and it seemed like mostly our B team played. These games are meaningless friendlies to try and build up a bit of fitness and form. In turn some international fans get a chance to see a few good players. Two of the three players shown in this banner for the upcoming friendly won't even be there. False advertisement.
It's cheapening in a way, but I get why they started doing it from 2017 onwards. US is the 2nd biggest market for La Liga TV rights and it kept growing in last few years while all other markets stagnated. Truth is even a fraction of TV money from US compared to NFL/NBA domestic rights is massive for La Liga hence they push El Clasico fixture there. If they had done this in peak Ron vs Messi era, both clubs could have got more fans from US as well. Stars won't be available for pre-season whenever there is summer NT tournament. I reckon football/soccer market will continue to grow in US with CWC next summer and World Cup in 2026.
