I'm happy it's finally done. I held my excitement because Mbappe has broke our hearts too many times. It's over, he's here. Happy that he plays for my favorite team. Eagerly awaiting to see how he lines up for the team. Sad that we won't get to see Toni Kroos sent immaculate passes to Mbappe and Vini together. We still have Modric, so there's that. I am so happy for the big summers that Real Madrid has had recently. Bellingham last year, Mbappe this year. Lot's of entertaining football to come. Nice touch to see Zizou at the presentation. I think Mbappe pulled a PR move by inviting all those kids to his presentation and giving them his shirts. But it's still commendable, because he did something charitable. I'm 100% behind Mbappe now. He will still have to earn my loyalty. Vini Jr and Bellingham didn't stab us in the back in 2022, so that wound will take some time to heal. I was a lot more excited back then. Now I'm just glad it's over and we can see what he brings to this team. Wasted the majority of his best years in Paris. Got rich. Good for him. Madrid didn't miss much though. Thankfully Madrid won 2 champions leagues while Kylian racked up his bank balance.
Mbappe decided to get stronger a couple of seasons ago and put on 4-5 kgs of muscle. He was getting injuries and that was his solution, which worked for that. Issue is that he lost explosiveness and stamina. It’s visible. Given that La Liga protect players a lot more, my hope is that he sheds some of the extra weight. It’s too early in his career to change like CR7 did at 33. I think the supercup is too early. With the World Cup in the winter, he’s only had 1 month off in the last 2 years until now. I’d let him recover a bit. Same with the other internationals whose teams went far in both WC and Euro.
Let the man rest. Hasn't had a proper break in a while and we have a ridiculous amount of games next season. If he starts training on August 7th as is being mentioned, give him that month to get ready. We don't need him for the super cup just a week later. Long term view. We want him at 100%.
Fayza Lamari: Real Madrid is the biggest club in the world. On Tuesday I felt the difference, for example, with PSG. The Parc des Princes is extraordinary [...] but when you come to Real Madrid you feel the weight of the institution. It is a club with an enormous history." "If you come to a club like this without humility, it won't work," she told Le Parisien, and continued: "Kylian's career would not be the same if he had lacked humility. He has the ability to constantly question himself." "What happened in Paris is comparable to a divorce. When it breaks down, at that moment you only think about the negative. But there have also been many positive aspects. Today, Kylian is in Madrid and we can thank not only Monaco, but also PSG. After all, it was PSG who trusted him when he was 18 and who invested so much money in him. I think he has repaid it many times over," Regarding the situation of the outstanding bonuses and salaries that the French club must pay Kylian, he commented: "Now it is in the hands of Kylian's representatives. But I trust that PSG will resolve it quickly. We have just received a letter from them. Decisions will be made. [...] I hope that all this does not tarnish everything we have experienced. I want to remember the positive things about PSG." "Does that mean that everything could end up in court?" she is asked in Le Parisien . "If we have no other choice, yes, of course. Now, I really hope that the contract we signed two years ago is respected. In reality, no one can say what happened, neither me nor the representatives of PSG, because for two years Kylian and the president have always met alone, except once," https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2024/07/17/669825b2268e3e6b408b45cd.html
Sometimes the truth is uncomfortable, sometimes the truth hurts. Sometimes the people who preach the loudest about diversity and inclusion and the one's who are most narrow minded and quickest to shut down free speech and the points of view they don't agree with. I don't post for the "likes" and "reps" and I don't post misleading misrepresentations.
The problem with your theory is that he was not really a "full time" player for PSG last season, had ample opportunities for rest that most top players don't get and he seems to have lost a considerable amount of form based on the end of season and Euros. I don't think fatigue has anything to do with it and getting him back into shape and form should be a priority beginning ASAP or we are possible looking at a Hazard type bust of a signing bringing new meaning to the word "generational."
Rest + Pintus gets him in shape. Rest is a critical component of any training program. And this is professional sports….rest doesn’t mean sleeping and just partying…. You better believe he’ll have some “homework to do”. My point is, there is no rush. Get the man ready. Same with Jude…
I say kylian comes back 1 week early from his holidays and really put in the work before the super cup against atalanta.
The amount of games these guys play now is beyond insane. They deserve rest and need it. I've no doubt he'll be in peak physical condition come regular season. He invoked Pintus' name during an interview as a lighthearted joke. They say you need to invoke the devil's name three times to summon him. Unfortunately for Kylian, the devil is fictional, but Pintus is real. He's worse than the devil and you only need to invoke his name once. Pucker up, Kylian. Pintus is coming
I was grinning from ear to ear during presentation day but besides that, its been pretty meh for me as well. I think I'll get more hyped once he starts playing. But I will say I'm currently vacationing in Spain with family and Mbappe jerseys are everywhere....from both the kids wearing it to the street vendors selling them. May or may not have copped one for my nephew and may grab one for myself before I leave
I understand this very well, but i think we did the presentation right after the Euro and the Copa and we've been so locked in with that that we kind of stepped off the gas after it. I admit that i took my father to the national museum yesterday and it was Madrid kits everywhere. I've never seen so many.
He was still training every day even if his playing time was cut down. His form dropped because he lost game fitness and sharpness, which is different from training. That said, he needs time where he's not doing football training... but recovery activities. It's very different.
I also want to notice that Mbappé is comically media trained so his answers are really bland meat and potatoes stuff unfortunately. Which is good for peace but don't make for much of an exciting story. Look how innocent this seems in hindsight:
Ronaldo's "uno, dos, tres, Hala Madrid" became such a trend that a shy and nervous Benzema recreated it few days later. Hazard also did that in 2019.
Irony is that back then people mocked Cristiano for it lol. The guy is going to have the MJ effect. Where when he retires all the clowns who have bashed him in the media, etc will use him as a tool... a barometer of greatness if you will, to bash upcoming talent.
I don’t think there will be a signing that matches what he accomplished. All the pressure he had with the richest deal ever, and he crushed expectations. Incredible
Kylian Mbappé: "My Spanish? It's not perfect, no. I can get by. I knew I would be playing here one day so I wanted to learn so I could be ready to adapt to the club and the Spanish culture as quickly as possible. I think it will help me to settle in." pic.twitter.com/XnwnVJC6Rq— Madrid Universal (@MadridUniversal) July 19, 2024
Everything about Mbappe when compared to Ronaldo is the lite or diet version. Even charisma. He's a copy of a copy of a copy.
We're getting a business in Mbappe. Everything he does fits the marketing awareness. I don't mind it, at least we don't have to worry about him saying how Messi is the greatest whenever he leaves for the national team like di Maria and Higuain did.
