We've invested to much in him. Add to that the general state of finances in football and the lack of obvious forward talent that is available, this squad is going to be hard to rebuild. Who on earth do we replace the likes of Vini and Mbappé with?

I hate to say it, (we know who is gonna love this) but considering Jose might be the next coach, Victor Osimhen is exactly the ST profile he would be looking for. This is assuming one of Vini and Mbappe will be sold this summer.

I think it's a bit more he's punching down like he's better than the players he's mentioning and he's also hitting at the coach. This is not the behavior of a good teammate, this is an egomanic.

Here's something i know @Hendrix22 will agree with me:

The level of the worst winger in the league and the best has shrunk significantly, so the "weight" a star player adds to a team doesn't tip the scale as much as it did.

He's basically saying the team was doing well enough with Xabi and now it's a shit show.

I think most fans would agree but it's not the time or the place to say it.

Yes. There’s a difference between frustration and publicly framing yourself above teammates while throwing darts at the coach in the media. Sh*t spreads poison fast in a dressing room already full of tension.

And it’s extra ironic watching some of the same people who spent years psychoanalyzing every vini facial expression suddenly become extremely generous interpreters of Mbappe’s comments.

There's really no difference. The entire club turned the "real madrid shirt" they speak so proudly of into a clown suit.

They all stink and it's arguably perfectly fine they won nothing. Should they do the same thing next year, i hope they fail just as bad if not worse.

Interesting. You were riding for a man child who literally told the former coach to "go fvck" himself over a sound tactical sub in El Clasico with 600m live viewers.

Clutching pearls over Mbappe's digs while your golden baby was having a full meltdown on the touchline, insulting the coach, disrespecting his incoming teammate and making a mockery of the club.

    Absolutely cooked take.

Gee, I wonder who started that dumpster fire?

    Even Junior?

Difference is pretty simple though, so try to stay with us.

One was a heat of the moment tantrum after being subbed (wrongly) in a clasico. Bad look, deserved criticism, move on.

The other is a player calmly sitting in front of microphones after the match while punching down at teammates and taking little shots at the coach while the club is already leaking smoke from every window.

Combination of petulant coach, players and fans.

You spent pages treating every vini grimace like a constitutional crisis, then suddenly Kylian starts airing hierarchy issues in public and now we’re supposed to become monks of nuance. Sweet.

Vini can’t take penalties because he’s shit at them. That’s why Mbappe takes them.

It’s also why Vini is the 3rd or 4th player to take them in Brazil

I see it as following the trend this season.

Vini telling the manager to ******** off on the pitch
Tchoumeni punching Valverde to the floor
Mbappe putting the coach and certain individuals on blast
Florentino yelling at everyone but himself and the team

Soon as this season finishes the better for everyone, including us.

"Heat of the moment, move on" convenient standards you've invented. Now suddenly you've discovered nuance and proportionality? Remarkable timing.

And the idea that a calm, calculated [albeit idiotic] post-match dig at the coach through a microphone is somehow worse than screaming and cursing at your manager, threatening to leave the club you supposedly "love to death" in front of millions is genuinely hilarious.

The difference isn't as simple as you're making it. The difference is one player is your guy and the other isn't. That's it.

Simping is exhausting work. No consistent standards, no principles, just whatever narrative protects your baby.

So, does "everyone" getting disciplined include Junior?

Mbappe has barely been here 5 minutes and he is lecturing us on when we were good. Somebody should break it to him that we were better before he came and were better this season when he wasn't on the pitch and that his presence in the XI was the biggest reason why we lost everything in a couple of weeks.

Heat of the moment and then the guy makes a formal apology making a point not to mention the manager and few months later he openly says he disliked the manager.

But the substitution was wrong. Dumb as a ********ing rock lol. When shit like this happens its important where it started. And it started with the Xabi situation, which is to say again with Florentino, if we absolve Vinicius from any responsibility because hes obviously a child.

People still think we just need more star power. "Doesnt convince the club" has become part of the ethos around here. Build a midfield with synergy and compatibility? lol ******** that, lets instead compare whether Valverde is better than Barella or Vinicius than Osimhen in a vacuum, and conclude were the still the bestest because football is actually played on paper and not on the pitch where we see crap week in week out.

Chasing Mbappe for years cost us everything and when we finally got him it tipped us over. Florentino doesnt even see this and youre saying its ok because hes fantastic businessman in the construction industry.

Nobody that wears the shirt right now other than Carvajal and maybe Courtois has a seat at the table when it comes to real greats that played in it.

Which makes it even funnier to see people like Bellingham for example all of a sudden act like they are Zidane. Delusional.

This is absolutely hilarious. Instead of talking about Mbappe, they are bringing up something that happened 7 months ago with another player. Vinicius of course.

I am not talking about all time greats for the Club here. Just that Mbappe is in need of a dose of reality. He even said we went out of the Copa because he didnt play. It is always me me me with him. Don't think he realises how good we were without him based on these comments. According to Mbappe he hasnt put a foot wrong this season. His only mistake is not winning a title. He obviously lives in a little bubble
