I am guessing for the first time in my life, I have something in common with Mbappé, because I am fully set to miss this one.

Scary injury worry. If this guy gets injured or loses form, it's gonna be a rough.

I kind of always feel like those ouchy/it hurts but it's fine injuries are more like "send me back or the federation is paying" situations.

Considering the Robben rule where the federation covers for an injured player while he's injured, a player playing through the pain is kind of rare nowadays.

Kylian Mbappé underwent medical tests in Madrid on Saturday, confirming no serious damage to his right ankle after a knock during France's 3-0 World Cup qualifier win over Azerbaijan on Friday. The 26-year-old forward, who scored before exiting early, withdrew from France's upcoming match against Iceland to focus on recovery with Real Madrid, where officials expect him back in full training next week. Real Madrid expressed frustration over France coach Didier Deschamps' decision to play Mbappé for the full match despite a pre-existing ankle issue from a recent club game.

Did we also express frustration when our coach plays him every second until he has to be taken off by medical professionals?

Maybe just not allow players to join the national team unless they are on the big stage so the club can monetize it I guess.

He should really be rested against Getafe, as an outside observer he looked a bit jaded in our last league game.

    agreed....looked a bit tired.

also ...Getafe is not the team to play if you're trying to avoid aggravating an injury.

We know Getafe away is a bastard game so we do need to take it seriously, but our next two games after that are Juventus and Barcelona, with a trip to Anfield not far behind either. And the same bastard game argument could be applied to Valencia, even though that's a home game for us (a game we lost last season). Even the final game in this little window before the next int'l break is a bastard game; we haven't won at Vallecas in years now. So, like, realistically you HAVE to get Mbappé off his feet at some point coming up, but if not the Getafe game then when? Don't turn a nagging problem into a big-time problem, especially so early in the season.

How can the club ever trust a person who is like this. Seriously wouldn't have such a bad person as my highest paid employee, exactly the "type" that makes for a toxic work place.

Needed time off for "rest" at the very beggining of the season a year ago and didn't go on national team duty. However he didn't need time off for "rest" in the summer for the nations league semi finals but immeidately after France was knocked out he was suddenly "injured" and wasn't available for the opening rounds of the club for the Club World Cup. Then was magically ready for the CWC semi finals now we come full circle and he's faking injuries again to get out of playing.

This guy isn't committed to anything but himself (and yes it is possible to put yourself first and not totally neglect responsibilitites to your country, employer, etc.).

I'm calling it now, after the WC he's gonna totally crash and fans are going to have to suffer him walking around the pitch doing absolutely nothing for almost an entire season and it won't be due to injuries or fatigue or whatever it will just be result of always getting whatevet he wants without accountability leaving him to believe he doesn't even have to try and why should he.

    lol

players go on international break and pick up minor knocks to come home early and resume work with the club. No point on burning out players, even the NT agreed with this

Play him against Getafe, rest him against Juventus ,the team already has 6 points and can get a result without him.

Except it seems like maybe he's not injured and he's faking it. That's dishonesty and the problem with dishonest people is you can't trust them.

How long until he starts plaing this game with the club and he's deciding which games are "important" and which games he isn't needed. He already does this game in game out deciding when it's "important' for him to run, defend, etc

How long until he decides the Copa del Rey isn't important enough to help him win the Balon d'Or so he tells Xabi not to count on him.

He's no CR7 in terms of ambition, work ethic, etc., I mean sure he's a greedy stat padding mercenary but those were the bad things about Cristiano and he doesnt' seem to have the redeeming qualities like being a die hard winner who never takes a day off.

EDIT: France "could" have qualified for the WC with a win but instead lost to Iceland and had to make due without their "Captain" who in my opinion is not the kind of person who I would pick Captain a Sunday league team.

    Good choice.

Seems like the type of player who will always be up for some stat padding against minnows like Azerbaijan but as soon as it looks like there's opponent who might make things a little difficult and not hand it to him on a silver platter, like say an away game to the almighty Iceland, then he can't be counted on.

I'm not sure I would go as far as to call it unhinged behavior, I mean it's not like he skipped out on national team duty to go on a bender in some Scandanavian hillside where he thought nobody would ever find out.... oh wait, uh nevermind.

Let's just say I don't think doing this makes Mbappe crazy or evil, but I'll wait to see how much fake fuzzy puff news stories the club has to put out to cover up for him if/when things go sideways.

Lol, if this was politics and not football, the FBI would be in fierros house looking for evidence he wants to take Mbappe down lmao.

It has become virtually impossible to argue Mbappe is hurting the team's results, so fierro has moved on to "well, uh, he's a bad person."

I would be willing to entertain your little show if you'd be doing it on every direction, but when two of our players have to appear in court for a "party" that went overboard you keep it zipped, which is pretty weird because right now both players are below their standards.

    1) They didn't lose to Iceland. They tied.

    2) They could not have qualified even with a win as they would have only been 5 points up on Ukraine with 6 points still up for grabs.

    3) Surely if he is "not the kind of person I would pick captain," then logically shouldn't France be better without him? Even though you're implying they're dependent upon him to beat Iceland.

Nothing substantive from this fierro nonsense, just international window boredom.
