Lol why is anyone arguing with fierro, the guy will take anything positive the club does and shit on it and anything negative the club does and uses it to justify his absolute asenine takes.

Well if it were 2018 then our defense would be Ramos, Varane, Nacho, Carvajal, Hakimi, Marcelo and Theo.

But Mbappe didn't want to be a part of the CL 3 peat team for whatever reasons, unfortunately they could be something like he doesn't care about being "part" of the "team", maybe doesn't care about winning the trophies because he is really is only looking for the personal glory of winning the Balon dOr and his idea was to do it at PSG until that didn't work then he expected Real Madrid to switch up everything it was doing to win CL titles and help him win the BDO instead.

Brutal forward, simple as. Scored against the weakest and strongest opponents, across different competitions, this season.

And still.. we are talking about 40 goals this season and still 'he can go next level'. What a player :)

Also think about it. If he didnt have that slump at the start, team got eliminated at the quarters of the UCL, plus a suspension and some injuries, he most likely be pushing 50 goals.

His early season performances were so strange at times. But for the past 5-6 months he has looked exactly like the player everyone thought he was. I think his slump was highly regular in hindsight; he just needed time.

Lately his dribbling kinda reminds of me Robben.

Indeed , he can polish other areas of his game .. keep himself fit and in shape and the desire to win

If he can improve his first touch playing as a 9 would be an easy transition.

he was really so bad at the start of the season. Some of us reasonable folks knew he’d turn it around. Others were comparing him to Hazard lol

The extremes for both sides are nauseating.

He needs to work harder, work for the team and learn to be a team player for us to have success. He also needs to be more clinical because if his finishing was better he would have broken the record for goals this season.

With that said he may not be Cristiano or messi level but he is the huge addition we needed and with time his partnership with Vinicius will be of legend.

The only thing I'm yet to be convinced of is him and Vini actually having that great chemistry. If that actually happens we are going to feast in the next few years. Sadly for us, so far this partnership hasn't lived up to the lofty expectations, despite the massive amount of goals from Mbappe. I'm excited to see how X.Alonso manages our attack and buildup play, cause these two have more to give.

If both Carlo and Xabi can't get those 2 to play well together, I would be seriously thinking of selling one of them and get a more traditional 9. No I'm not kidding.

The man asked for time off from the national team to work in himself after a slow start to the season, then he jetted off on a over seas vacation to party with his buddies in Sweden where he got himself caught up a in a criminal investigation as a result of his philandering. That could have gone really bad if the woman didn't take money to keep her mouth closed.

Even Hazard didn't have that kind of audacity. I mean maybe he took the family out to Krispy Kreme more than necessary, but Hazard just had bad luck with injuries.

We'll know how serious Mbappe is if works on his weaknesses and makes improvements to his game that will help the team or he becomes complacent and stays the same player he's always been.

Perez would never sell Mbappe after years of public obsession with him. But I get what you're saying. We had to sell Robben and Sneijder in 2009 when we were starting project Perez 2.0. And if we have to sell other star players to create a better team I'm all for it. That being said, just like you, I want to see this team under Alonso before making any final conclusions. I have a feeling we will all be very happy with Alonso's 1st year at the club. #remindmein12months :D

Aside from Mbappe making a fool out of himself with his project Stockholm, I honestly think there was absolutely no real depth to that rumour about the woman being assaulted. From what I've gathered the only link between that and Mbappe was that she was assaulted in the same hotel he stayed. I've scoured the internet at the time and found the source outlet that printed that story. Mbappe's name was more than likely just used to generate publicity for the story. At no point in the investigation did Mbappe's name come up as a criminal suspect. I would have zero problem slamming him if it did.

The takeaway is that he had only been at the club a couple of months and probably hadn't even finished unpacking at home when he went on this viaje.

Rich and famous, he's a walking lawsuit and he has to be more aware. It was dumb thing to do at that point in time and really put into focus his dedication and commitment (or lack thereof).

It was absolutely dumb, because his PR journos in both Marca and AS simultaneously published articles saying he's staying in Madrid (away from NT duties) to work on his game in RM city with Pintus and other coaches, as he felt he owes it to Madridistas. Instead he went to Stockholm and made both the journos and himself look like complete morons both in Spain and France. I hope that was a learning moment for him. We haven't had any big nonsense with him since, so signs are good.

From what I've seen of this season, I think Carlo really thought they'd just figure it out. I'm excited to see what Xabi comes up with. But if he can't figure them out, imo we're going to suffer with them for a few years because I don't see either leaving.
