If you are un-American or fascist.

In America the military is absolutely NOT used to do such things. That is absolutely NOT the purpose of the military.

It is absolutely appalling that any American president or presidential candidate could suggest such a thing. It is absolutely un-American.

Interesting Bulwark podcast today. Miller and Kristol were discussing how Trump has been getting markedly darker, and more sinister in his public rhetoric since the debate. And yet, he's paid zero price in the polls. If anything, he's gained ever so slightly.

    1. Nobody else could do this. He truly is amazingly unique as a political entity

    2. What on earth does that say about the American electorate?

Don't ask questions to which you don't want to hear the answer.

I'm listening to that podcast right now.

something that is amazing to me is that sane americans didn’t want an old president yet the fash voters simply don’t care that their avatar is a rambling grandad with dementia

I was texting earlier today with a Kiwi friend who was visiting New York recently. Talking about a friend of his who is in politics in NYC, he wrote: "Even he was saying he's just not confident. Too many fiscally conservatives who don't believe the Project 2025 stuff will eventuate."

He also wrote: "A Jewish colleague said 'Never trust that your so called tolerant neighbours are the same behind your back as they are to your face.' "

Don't think anyone has posted this yet - it's kind of catchy and is on point (you might fast-forward to 2.06 to avoid the sponsor ad). Using a Taylor Swift song seems appropriate.

That Trump, his propaganda machine, and social media succeeded in validating and celebrating folks worsts prejudices.. we had started to accept the illusion that we had made significant progress in being better towards one another and eliminating old ways of division and hate..but in reality the worst in many constituents was just laying in the shadows, festering and growing..ensuring that the generational hate survived until the time came for it to step into the light.. Trump or no Trump, lies and deceit have been normalized.. this is what we will live with going forward…. Now we wait, Trump convinced his MAGA fanatics into believing absurdities, soon we will see if he can get them to commit atrocities….

All that aside hes just as likely to still win he Presidency, what a great look the US the “shining” example for others to emulate having its highest office won by some POS whose whole campaign theme was “grievance porn” 24/7

Its not just a US/Trump thing either.. you see a whole Comservative/Fascist movement taking hold all over.. its dressed up a bit as “ani-immigration” but its more than that.. “hate and intolerance” is trending of late

But that is what he said. You can blow all the smoke you want, but really you’re just telling us we shouldn’t believe him. You’re telling us he’s lying. So why are you voting for a liar?

Come on Dave….this is easy. No voters expect their preferred candidate to fulfill all of their campaign promises. As long as he makes life terrible for the Jews, the blacks, the browns and the gays….that’s enough. Nobody is perfect after all.

Geraldo Rivero on CNN saying flat out the orange fascist is a racist. They had quoted Rivero 7 or 8 years ago saying the fascist wasn't racist at all, but he has changed his mind with the latest rhetoric.

I'd love to see Trump try to recall Milley to court-martial him. Odds are good the lacky playing at SECDEF will end up blown away in his office and troops will seize the White House and set Trump on fire. LOL. Of course I'm kidding. But one can dream.

My first go is, he would be mute, and he would be trapped in a room with people who just talk to each other. He would have to sit there and ********ing listen. He would be unable to speak, so he would have to spend eternity watching everyone else be the protagonist, never him.

In a room full of minority people making fun of him, but not at him. He's sitting on a cheap chair that's always an inch away from breaking.

    That's hell.
