Just reading this piece in the grauniad about Jack Smith's case against Trump, (that is mainly about Rudy sending a text message to some random number asking them to be a fake elector), and noticed this... ... The detail was included in a legal brief by the special counsel Jack Smith that was unsealed by the US district judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the federal election interference case against Trump. The brief, which contains several new details about Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 race, argues why Trump should be held accountable – specifically, why he is not entitled to immunity after the US supreme court held that presidents cannot be charged for “official acts” while in office. You have to ask, how is getting people to be fraudulent electors an 'official act'? If a president can simply 'deem' an act he does to be 'official' why not selling the USA to Russia for a few billion dollars and then saying he did it 'officially'.

Gizmodo filed a FOIA request for complaints about Truth Social. It turns out it’s a happy hunting ground for scammers. Some of the specifics are startling. Like, the person who lost $170,000 to a person who promised to help the Truth Social user recover money he’d lost in another online scam. Like, the man who got bilked by a flirty woman, who notes he hasn’t told his wife about it yet. A high portion of the scams involve crypto. https://gizmodo.com/truth-social-users-are-losing-ridiculous-sums-of-money-to-scams-2000506604
We, about 40 of us have been standing on the corner of the main intersection of out small town with Harris Walz signs. Me as an immigrant am carrying an American flag. One clown said “Hey that’s our flag”. Nah! Yours is the Swastica. Getting a good reception/response from people driving by.

Not quite. As I understand the process, Gorsuch would read the case (10th circuit) and decide if it goes to the full panel to be heard, or he can reject it (for some reason or not) before the full panel hears it. Once the CoSC rules, the habeas goes to SCOTUS, yes? If so, that would first go through the process I understood above, yes? And once Gorsuch decides to send it to the full panel, I'm sure at least 4 justices will agree to hear the case. As a former prosecutor, I suspect Harris will pick somebody with more gravitas.
Lots of traffic about Biden-Harris sending tons of money to aid Lebanon (160 million) and only 2 million (additional) to South Carolina.. Trump of course did a GoFundMe which raised 3 million for Florida thus far and has started to say FEMA money is being diverted towards those damn Migrants… so the next disinformation grift has begun
WaPo's Campaign Moment mentioned that there were a lot of lies ("misinformation" I think they called it) that started almost immediately about FEMA money going to immigrants. I wonder if any of the MSM will ever link the lies to grift.
I'm sorry, I find that very hard to believe. I mean, if you can't trust something which has a value based entirely on what people think it is worth and which is backed by Donald Trump, what CAN yer trust
From that article... Truth Social seems to be a target-rich environment for people who are easy to con. Obviously that HAS to be a lie
You should read this old piece. It has tons of explanatory value. https://thebaffler.com/salvos/the-long-con
If a state Supreme Court has decided an important federal question, the unhappy litigant can file a cert portion seeking review by SCOTUS. For example, Miranda v. Arizona. Circuit justices have nothing to do with such cases. And, as you said earlier, even for cases from US courts of appeals, the Circuit Justice has no more role than any other Justice, except for dealing with certain procedural motions.
“It is hard to challenge these lies with a well-reasoned-but- overlong speech,” they concluded; and how. Romney’s lying, in fact, was so richly variegated that it can serve as a sort of grammar of mendacity. Donny Tiny Hands read that and said, 'hold my beer'.
