You mean LA have a max of 39 not 38 as they have 27 points now and 4 games left... so they would have a max of 39 points if they win all 4.

Yeah...The headeck is growing and the solution afar....

And if LAG have 27 points and 4 games to play (12 Point) they can make 39 points if they win all four games....You right....

Oduro almost sent NY into the playoffs. Then he went near post and side netted it.

If Los Angeles Galaxy don't win tomorrow (so a loss or a draw), Red Bulls are officially in.

If LA wins out, it would be nice if Chicago loses.

Actually, let's qualify that by saying there's now some more space between E5 (now Chicago) and Columbus after tonight. If KC passes us, we better hope Chicago does too and we get into the West bracket.

    Re: The (playoff race) Countdown

has anyone done the math on a 3-way tie between LAGalaxy-Chicago-REd bulls? right now that is the worst case scenario for the BUlls.

Bulls lose out = 39 points
Chicago wins next week @ 39 heading into final game
LA wins next 3, @ 36 heading into final game...

So a draw in that LA/Chicago game would put us in
A Chicago win would put us in
A LA Galaxy win would create a 3-way tie (in a worst case scenario from our perspective).

How the hell does a 3-way tie across conferences work?

Here would be the final head-to-head-to-head records in that scenario:

Red Bulls: 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss
    Chicago: 0 wins, 1 draw, 4 loss
LA Galaxy: 3 wins, 0 draw, 1 loss

I think the Red Bulls actually clinched tonight, if im reading this right. I can't see any scenario that wouldn't put them in. Either they would be #7 ahead of LA, or #8 behind LA... but i cant see literally any scneario where they fall to #9 now.

Well, if we clinched, the chase is over, so thread closed.
