If we beat RSL we will be 5 points clear of 4th place with 3 games to play, a very good position to be in. Of course if we pull a Mets we could be right back to 4th.

It just wouldn't be the same if the Bulls last home game vs. KC didn't mean something... Don't get me wrong I am definitely not hoping for that... Hopefully by the time we play KC we will be way ahead of them and already in the playoffs.

Is that true? Do yellows and reds carry into the playoffs?

Not exactly pulling a Mets; but so much for clinching this weekend.

    Roll on Toronto FC.

Now that you mention it, I have absolutely no idea. But it wouldn't shock me if it was true.

I was rolling. You know how that is.

Well Columbus & Colorado lost this weekend. I think they need two more points to officially clinch, so winning in Toronto should do it.

Yeah, yeah. Germans in Pearl Harbor. I get it.

I have to believe that a playoff is considered a tournament, and that everyone starts with a clean sheet (except Kevin Hartman, who wouldn't know what a clean sheet is...)

For every Mets there has to be a Phillies, and neither Columbus nor Chicago nor Colorado fit that description.

We are Red Bull; Toronto is the China shop. We get 3 points; they get to pick up the pieces.

    Who's next?

well unfortunately it didnt happen--we didint even tie, we lost to Toronto FC. What is the absolute worst case scenario? Could we be out if we lose our next two games and other teams make up ground? Or are we assured of at least the final seed no matter what?

Damn it! A loss to the worst team in the league? We shouldn't even bother making the playoffs.

We win one of the next two, we're in. I think

If KC beat DC this week, it really puts the screws to RB for a win in the last home game on 10/13.

The worst case scenario is obviously missing the playoffs entirely.

However, they can still clinch while sitting on the couch this wekend with both:

    -Columbus draw or loss
    -LA Galaxy draw or loss

    Re: The (playoff race) Countdown

The nine team on the list is Columbus with 33 points plus three games to play, a probability of 40 points in total if they win this three games, to 39 points of the Re Bulls...

But If today Columbus don't win (only a win) Red Bulls are in the Play Off

    Re: The (playoff race) Countdown

Columbus have 31 points with 3 to play, so right now their max is 40. If they were to draw, they'd have 32 with 2 to play, making a max of 38.

LA have a max of 38 and could beat the Red Bulls on goal differential, especially since that scenario would mean LAG are going to win 4 games and the Red Bulls would lose two.

LAG and Columbus are only one (1) game away, any of them loose a game or the Red Bulls win one and we are free...

Yes... we're circling back to what I sad a few posts ago. If Columbus AND LA Galaxy BOTH don't win this weekend, Red Bulls are in.
